We ate here for my husbands birthday. The welcome was warm and friendly and the table we were given was perfect. The wines on offer were very good. I had a couple of seafood dishes which were gorgeous, the prawns are the largest iâve ever had. The only disappointing element was my husbands lasagna was dry, he didnât really enjoy it. But everything else was very nice.

In search of delicious, well-cooked, traditional fish 'n' chips, served by friendly staff and less than a 3 minute walk from the American fountain? Look no further.You can sit and eat in (around the side of the building) or take away (from the front). The side entry is a bit narrow, but we managed with a buggy no problems.We chose to eat in. The restaurant area is small and clean, old-fashioned but exactly as you'd expect a long-established chippy restaurant to look.1 massive cod and chips, 1 massive haddock and chips, succulent scampi and chips, 1 large and 1 small sausage and chips, a pickled egg and soft drinks for all came in at £38. Bargain. Takeaway would obviously be cheaper.A huge thank you to the angelic, very sympathetic owner... but next time, my husband and I will come without a toddler. (Nevertheless, he enjoyed his food immensely!)
