Reviews on Seafood food in St Mawes, England, United Kingdom. St Mawes (Cornish: Lannvowsedh) is a small town opposite Falmouth, on the Roseland Peninsula on the south coast of Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It lies on the east bank of the Carrick Roads, a large waterway created after the Ice Age from an ancient valley which flooded as the melt waters caused the sea level to rise dramatically, creating an immense natural harbour, often claimed to be the third largest in the world. It was once a busy fishing port, but the trade declined during the 20th century and it now serves as a popular tourist location, with many properties in the town functioning as holiday accommodation. The town is in the civil parish of St Just in Roseland.

Delicious food, great service and lovely location. My only issue is why I had to pay £4.00 for a can of Guinness as there was no draft available. One heck of a profit margin.Would have 5 stars if scoring just the food.

The Hut is an intimate candlelit bistro with booth seating and a great selection of locally caught seafood on the menu, which varies depending on the catch of the day. Gluten, Dairy free, Vegetatian and Vegan options available.
Discovered behind an unassuming door off a little side street... Simple cheerful interior. Friendly and sincere welcome and service. Very helpful with special dietary needs. Food was just delicious and well balanced portions offered good value for money. Excellent and varied specials too. Will definitely go back for more!

All six of our tapas dishes were very good though as they were brought out together some went cold. When I gave this feedback I was told I could have asked for them to come separately, it would be a good idea to ask people in advance. We had incorrectly assumed that they would come out one by one. We shared an expresso creme brulee which was so good but the cinnamon donuts had zero cinnamon in them and were pretty awful, just lumps of dough. All in all it was a very good meal and it's a pleasant cafe style restaurant with a good view of the harbour. The wine though has a high mark up, the pinot grigio we had cost £19 and tasted like a £5 bottle. Would it not be possible to improve the quality? An extra couple of pounds spent would go a long way. The wine was just about drinkable. We paid £65 before tip. It was the first cold evening we have had and there is quite a draught in the window seats. It was an enjoyable evening and the waiters do their bestWe are delighted that you enjoyed your tapas dishes and creme brulee and appreciate your feedback regarding the timings of your dishes. We do typically serve everything at once unless someone asks otherwise but will bear this in mind going forward. We were sorry to hear that your donuts were not quite so good. This is a suprise as they are usually delicious so can only apologise that they were not so during your visit. Please do always tell your server if something is not right - we would have been happy to replace them. As regards the wine, once again we would have been happy to offer you an alternative if you were not happy.

Verdant Brewing Co taproom and small plate seafood bar in the heart of Falmouth, Cornwall. Locally made and sustainably sourced food and drink in a casual, cosy environment.
Wonderful to have Verdant beer available in a bar in Falmouth! The beer is exceptional, the bar staff very knowledgeable and the surroundings in keeping with the whole craft beer vibe. We ate here too and thought the food was wonderful, but more tapas than mains size. The name of the bar is perhaps a little confusing as it really is beer first, we thought? I don't think we would try to make this a main meal stop again, but for beer, vibes and a tasty snack it was truly great!!

Welcome to The Shack - a rustic shellfish bar in bustling Events Square, Falmouth, where the food is always fresh! Relaxed dining in an unrivalled atmosphere - with the focus on sparklingly fresh, local seafood. The idea is simple: sociable food and a fun
Whenever I come here I always leave saying that I should come more often. The shack stack is fantastic, really good quality seafood. Love it. We had a £19 bottle of an italian pinio grigot which was really very okay. It makes such a difference when restaurants have a decent bottle of wine at this price. Service here is always friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is relaxed. I am looking forward to the lunch time meal deals starting again. Most definitely recommend the Shack.

I visited Indidog back in July 2019 with family and my other half, we had a three course dinner and cocktails. What a lovely venue with a lovely view of the harbour and surrounding countryside. The owners are brilliant, the food is well made and tasty, the bar and waiting staff know their stuff regarding cocktails, drinks and food. Hopefully this will prove to be a popular mainstay with the locals and tourists alike.

Fish extravaganza! I recommend the excellent fish spaghetti served in a lovely atmosphere (apart from the rude table behind who did not approve that we had our adorable puppy in tow) and excellent, friendly staff! Dog friendly and very welcoming. Would I go back, yes, and Iâd probably order the fish spaghetti again.
