If you are visiting the area of the Como lake, this may be worth a drive, since the location is nice. At the end of the lake, close to the mountains. Nice view and relaxing atmosphere. The best in their menu is the local fish (from the lake), particularly the Carpione antipasto, fish cooked with vinegar. Price is average/low.

We were visitng lake Como for 2 weeks holidays. Always interested to explore local cuisine and try to search for family run restaurants/cafe. La Grangia deffinetely matched profile of the restaurants we go for. It was quite easy to find since it's located on the main road. You initially enter shop where you can buy cheese & cold meats. Which is fantastic because it gives you opportunity to purchase edible souvenir to bring home. Restaurant was empty we were the only visitors. Room was clean and nicely decorated. The only disadvatage was that there is no windows to enjoy beautifull view. We were offered set menu of cheese/meets plata as a starter, followed by gnocchini (small gbocchi) for 1st course, meet for second course and desert. Price was good and food sounded simple and nice. Starter was fine local meet and chese. Pasta was a dissappointment. We were offered cheese option or meat. I was suprised that meat gravy that was used was canned meat. It's very possible that it was canned locally or even by the owner but it ws not fresh. Owner did not speak very good English so I could not check. Meat for second course was ok, but it was served on the hot plate so you kind of cook it yourself (but it's common for the area). In general the owner is very nice and you can see him trying hard, but he just does not know how to do it well. He looked a bit scared in general that we showed up. I think he has the right idea of what he wanted to deliver but he does not know how. He probably very good as a farmer, but not as a restaurateur. Would recommend for him to put a bigger sign that he has shop with local farmed cheese & meat and bigger sign for reastaurant. Put some tables outside, so that visitors can enjoy amazing view, choose simple dishes but from fresh local ingridients, and learn couple good pasta dishes. I put 3 stars for the efforts.

We stopped by here after asking the locals for recommendations. Fantastic family run restaurant with amazing views over lake Como. Service was good, food was fresh and delicious. The owners son was very informative and suggested some other sights we should not miss. At the end of the evening as there were a lack of taxis around the owner gave us a lift back to our hotels. The definitely went the extra mile and we will be back again. Thanks for a memorable evening.

A simply and quality restaurant! In the restaurant of Hotel Lario, every day, you can try our fresh pasta by our labs, seconds typical course from the area of Lake of Como, or a real quality pizza.
Arrived early evening having not precooked a table but was found a spot on the terrace at the back of the restaurant. Canât quite see the lake but overlook fields and quite quiet. 3 people serving tables therefore service was excellent and attentive but not too much. A variety of fresh bread arrived to start. I had a Salami Pizza, nothing too adventurous but very tasty and nicely done. My partner had a Porcini tagliatelle with mushrooms which was very light hence the plate cleaned. Tiramisu and Panna Cotta followed and were nicely done. All in all an enjoyable meal, great service and a fair price. Wish we had come earlier in the week as we would have visited more than one.

We really enjoyed our food here, spaghetti with clams, shrimp ravioli plus the main course of Iberian Pig. The quality, the presentation and the taste superb and couldnât be faulted. However the standard of service was poor, truthfully they had insufficient trained staff and as a result we only got 1 of our main meals, the other 3 came 20 mins later. This was acknowledged by the restaurant but clearly it didnât enhance the meal.

This restaurant has an a la carte menu but also fix menu for lake fist and sea fish or meat menu. Tried the Lake fish and sea fish menu which comes with 5 different dishes good value for money. You can also share between each menu as it is enough. We were their when they had a wedding so service very slow. However the waitresses were very pleasant trying to do their best. This restaurant during the day have the best view of the mountains. Not expensive good value for money. However decor needs to be desired.

We found this restaurant following a recommendation on Facebook. The chef/proprietor was previously the chef at the Royal Victoria and we had been impressed with his culinary skills. We were shown to our table in the charming courtyard under plane trees and soft lights. The staff were courteous and friendly and explained the menu knowledgeably and with enthusiasm. The extensive wine list featured many excellent local wines including a stunning Nebbiolo from Mamete Prevostini. My starter was Tagliatelle with Prawns and Wild Mushrooms in a delicate delicious sauce - stunning - and my wife had pasta with lobster and a bisque. Main courses were veal with truffles and pate and my wife chose fish which she declared to be delicious. The portions were ample so we shared a dessert. As the meal ended both chefs visited each table to receive feedback. This is a feature that I always admire as it shows that the staff are keen to maintain high standards.Highly recommended.Dear Customer, his positive review fills us with satisfaction.Thank you from all the Locanda Capolago Staff
