I have been coming here for years, and always when people come to visit I take them here for a nice dinner or lunch. Besides the fish you can also get the regular Dutch snacks! Staff is friendly and prices are good.

We wanted to have our last evening meal overlooking the North Sea and more or less came across the Strandpaviljoen Struin by accident after having driven through nearby Schoorl. We parked in the pay car park and strolled over to the beach pavilion which was half full that Thursday evening. We got a warm welcome from the owner/manager who suggested that we might want to sit at a table in the corner bearing in mind that the sun was streaming through the windows looking out to the sea.Having settled ourselves in a very polite and friendly waitress handed out the menus and took our drinks order. I had the Texel Skumkoppe bottled beer. Lovely. Our party of six all found something interesting to order. I went for the mussels special - essentially a large pot of mussels, chips, various sauces and a generous helping of side salad. All for 19,50 Euro. Service throughout was excellent - in fact the quiet, professional and polite demeanour of our waitress certainly made our evening dinner something special. And at the end, having paid a bill of ca. 130 Euro including tip for 5 adults and a two year old, we had enough time to stroll over to the beach and watch the sun set on our last vacation day in Holland.

This place is sort of trendy, customers younger than in many other restaurants here in Bergen. The food we had was very good, even if the accompaniement of the main dishes was limited to salad and fries. The service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere relaxed, not too noisy.the bill came to 75 EUR for two, including main dish, dessert and some wine.

One of the most famous attractions in Schoorl is its Klimduin, a dune in the middle of the village.Just in front of this dune it's 't Trefpunt. We chose this restaurant randomly, as we were looking for some place where we could eat some typical Dutch crêpes. We decided to see outside, so we can enjoy of the unique view of the Kilmduin.Even though it took a bit to get our crêpes, the waiting was worthy... I have never had a better cheese crêpe in my whole life... Delicious!Furthermore, I would like to praise the two young ladies who waited our table. All smiles!

For years I have been wondering why this place does not get more recognition for it's great quality. The food is always good and wunderfully decorated and the service that comes with it is impeccable, friendly and charming. Accompanying wines are also well chosenDo not be misled by the restaurants exterior and location. It may seem a bit dull and unwelcoming, but in reality it's the opposite. Get in and try the seafood of the day or one of the other chefs specials. Yesterday we had Duck liver and Lobster muse for starters and Seatrout as mains. It was delicious.

Restaurant hotel Merlet is a very nice 1 star restaurant in Schoorl. The ambiance is very nice and the lights perfectly dimmed. The atmosphere is just perfect and the staff is very nice and professional. The wine list is good and the pricing is reasonable for a 1 star restaurant. The food is as expected very good but never overdone. The value for money is excellent and we had a very good time. I would highly recommend it.

Despite the nice weather we were able to get a table. The restaurant has a nice athmosphere with friendly staff. The menu is compact with fish, meat and vegetarian dishes. There is a good wine card and our wine (Sanoma County Zinfandel) was great. This restaurant deserves to be in the top spot in Bergen!

This restaurant has the perfect match between excellent food and excellent waiters. It is rare that both reach an outstanding level. Even the waitress that ended her shift during our dinner came to say hello before she left. And of course we had fish as main dish. The right choice!

Went there for a November dinner, party of four with a reserved table, good thing it was as the place was nearly full on a Thursday evening. Great menu choices, very smart and helpful staff. Despite the fullness we felt pandered to. The food was truly excellent. High recommend.
