This is our third or fourth visit and every single time the service has been terrible. Ridiculously long wait times, mixed up orders, some drinks brought out while other come out 15 minutes later, etc.

I am a frequent customer at Roberto Cuadra's restaurant. I used to eat seafood, and tried many delicious options; but now that I don't, I have requested vegetarian options and they had kindly adapted some recipes to give me more choices. I was recently there with my family for a birthday celebration and, as always, the seafood and meat dishes were cooked to perfection, and I had a delicious vegetarian causa. Service is always prompt and impeccable, but I have to say that this time I was a bit disappointed as the chef came out to greet a group of customers (friends of his, I believe), but he didn't bother to say hello to the customers seated at the rest of the tables. It wasn't crowded, and I'm sure he was busy as usual, but he could have said hello to the rest of us and at least ask if everything was OK. Next time, Chef Cuadra, remember it is a good idea to acknowledge those customers who are loyal to you and your place. Other than that, I still consider this restaurant one of my favorite places in San Salvador.

For my birthday, my Mom and one of her friends decided on taking me to A Fuego Lento. I had never heard of the place, but I decided to let them take me to discover a new spot on the map. And, boy, this was a pleasant surprise. The signature dish is Paella Valenciana, a Spanish delicacy, and let me tell you it is good (not excellent, but good). My choice was Paella Mixta (rice with seafood and pork and chicken meat, among other ingredients) and it was the right one. Value is excellent when you take into account that for $9.95 you get an entree (salad), the main dish (a regular-to-big Paella), and a small dessert (a small piece of vainilla ice cream). In addition, my drink choice was a "fresco de ensalada" (juice with a variety of chopped fruits). The place was clean, we got exactly what we ordered, service speed was incredibly fast (the food was ready in less than 10 minutes). The only sour spot is the atmosphere: in a Spanish-food restaurant, you expect a Spaniard-type decoration plus music from the peninsula. We found none of these: the house where the restaurant is located is very plain and the music playing was standard American pop fare, plus an interlude of live marimba music. All in all, a surprising place where I would visit again to savor the Paella once more.

If you are after a nice quiet meal whilst you have a conversation with your companions DON'T go here! There are TV monitors everywhere broadcasting inane and load music from every direction - so loud that that your server can easily misunderstand your order and bring you a double portion as happened in my case! And they then went on to charge me double what I expected! The seafood is very varied and well prepared - prices are reasonable and service is quick. Sad that the atmosphere is so unwelcoming!

Having just arrived in San Salvador we asked our cab driver to drop us at a "typical" restaurant in the Zone Rosa and he took us to La Hola. The food was great but very expensive! I had a prawn salad (four prawns) and a margarita for $17. My buddy had ceviche which was $10 and extremely good.

Servers in general have a great service attitude, very welcoming, pleasing and amicable. Services is also very quick. Meals are generously served with authentic flavors and good presentation.I recommend the Lomo Saltado, excellent choice, great flavor. That unique umami flavor makes it the real deal! The restaurant ambiance is OK, in some areas a little warmer than appreciated, specially for a very warm city such as San Salvador, but OK.

Went here with a group of folks and the food was fantastic. We met the new phew of the manager who sent us some appetizers to try, each was amazing. The service was fast and they worked hard especially in light of our limited Spanish.
