Things to do in Santa Marina Salina
Tiny cosy restaurant run by two very welcoming brothers serving catch of the day, fish and seafood, cooked with love and reviving the Sicilian tradition with a special twist.

The owner presented us some catch fish of the day and we choose a fish âcernia biancaâ but surprise on our plates arrived a overcooked old fish, very different than the one presented. Even in the kitchen was not anylonger the âmamaâ but someone else.SIAMO stati fregati a la grande! Very expensive for the bad quality of food we received. The only good was the service.

Tinkitè in Sicily is synonymous with "abundance, wealth." Our mission is to offer the richness of the traditional Aeolian cuisine, but with imagination. Our Restaurant, joined with the adjacent Hotel Arcangelo, is a perfect location for your wedding party
Me and family were looking for a nice place for dinner, some Salina's citizen suggested "Tinkitè" .. a lovely restaurant, clean, with pleasant atmosphere, very careful service, good and well presented food, researched ingredients, express kitchen style, and quite high prices make of this restaurant in a few words a kind of "Gourmet" Restaurant, but we didn't se that word anywhere. It worth to go at least once, especially with partner because of the romantic atmosphere!!Highly recommended

28 years ago, Mamma Santina, decided to open her kitchen to the public and offer a taste of typical aeolian cuisine and warm hospitality. 28 years down the line, the same recipes, taught to her by her granmothers, have been passed on to the following gene
We first visited the beautiful Isole Eolie 12 years ago after I saw Il Postino. I fell madly in love with Salina and dreamt of returning some day to the same hotel where we were then hosted by a young and enthusiastic chef owner, Mario, and his fiancée. We returned yesterday and found that Salina was still the same magical place but the charm of Mamma Santina had eroded. It is no more a charming hotel with a passionate owner at the helm. Perhaps first time visitors may not notice, but now there are distant but pleasant and helpful staff( lots for the size) and Mario is around but appears to have run out of steam. On the plus side our suite with a huge private terrace was unbeatable. We would bring our breakfast up to our terrace every morning and have coffee and fresh croissants with the glistening Mediterranean below. The breakfasts were lovely with fresh breads, pastries, and home made conserves. We had lunch and dinner on the first day and our grilled fish was superb but the mixed salad was sub standard. Our stay was lovely, our suite gorgeous but the feeling of coming home was missing so alas we will return to Salina but stay somewhere else. Dear Sudha, I truly appreciate your feedback and I am glad that you enjoyed your room and the meals. I am so sorry to read that your experience didnât fulfill your expectations, I wish you had reach out to me directly for any questions or comments during your stay, maybe we didnât have the chance because at the moment of your departure I wasnât present. The only certainty, for me, is that today as 12 years ago I work with the same enthusiasm and I hope that in the future, giving us another chance, I will be able to prove it to you.Have a safe trip home,Mario

I have been I this restaurant late July, position is good but food and service nothing special. I went as recommended from a friend who was there some years before. May be it was good but not now any more. Food ready in second most probably already cooked and just wanted up, service unattentive, cost not proportioned to the quality

Flawouros of refined aeolian simplicity ,conveying culinary elegance, style, and excellance of skill
A magnificent evening amongst the smells and tastes of the beautiful aeolian tradition. The âPolpette Patate al Nero di Seppiaâ reflect an inextricably modern take on classic ingredients, simultaneously conjuring a savoury link to the sea that is so strongly embedded in the local culture. The swordfish blesses the palate with a cascade of freshness and richness which characterises, yet redefines, Sicilian cuisine. The simple beauty of the desserts mirror an accurate and meticulous research carried out by Chef Fabio Giuffrè, culminating in a balanced though surprising blend of sweetness and bitterness. The excellent service and inherently caring nature of the staff serves only to frame and complete what I can describe as a beautiful painting of Salina.

The setting is sublime, at the lighthouse-end of Lingua's pretty little promenade, with a view across to Lipari. There is parking by the lighthouse. There is an extensive menu and we had a delightful 3-course lunch for 74 euros for two, including a half-litre carafe of house white (5 euros) and a litre of sparkling water (2.50 euros). Husband had marinated anchovies then spaghetti with clams (both 15 euros), finishing with ice cream (3 euros). I had pasta shells with prawns and courgettes (12 euros) then mixed fried prawns and squid (16 euros) then a granita at 2.50 euros. All delicious and such good value.Service was excellent even though they were also coping (very well) with a couple of groups. Such friendly people, and such a surprise to us, in such an out-of-the-way place, to hear fluent Australian-accented English (they spend part of the year there).

Mr Santino owns this beautiful restaurant on the strand of Lingua in Salina.Food is super.Cozze (mussels) alla messinese and polipo (octopus) are the best appetizers.Their pastas are like you would expect to eat in a Sicilian home...so genuine and authentic! Our favorite ones: spaghetti alla siciliana; Maccheroni a la cannata; permette al profumo di salina. We are here for almost a week and never got tired to taste all the dishes of the menu!Customer service is outstanding so is the food. Well priced too. Don't miss their cannoli and their cassata for dessert!

Very nice surprise for our group after long sailing day. Owner well explained menu, background of resources and dishes. Meals were freshly prepared, very tasty and nicely served with care. Selection of drinks and deserts chosen complemented well the dinner. We were very satisfied and can recommend this cosy place.Thank you for your review. It was a pleausure for me.Hope to see you again at our restaurant. With loveCarmelo
Breathtaking views. Lovely terrace. Extremely accomplished bartender. I was just going to have a glass of wine as cocktails are not my thing, but the bartender very kindly suggested I try his wild fennel, local lemon and ginger with vodka concoction. Delicious and refreshing. My only complaint is the music is extremely loud.I did not eat at restaurant.
