This is a good seafood restaurant in a nice location, prices are not bad and if you are lucky you might be able to park close to it, there is always room to improve but definitely a good option in San Luis.

The atmosphere is really nice, you feel like going to a restaurant at a beach. The tacos are very good with the whole filet, rather than ground or chopped fish. I believe the rice was rather expensive... it was just rice anyway (about 10dlls), and they forgot to put some ingredients on the tacos that are clearly stated on the menu... (they took them back and fixed it, but you never know if they spat on your food for complaining). Drinks and desserts very good. Service... not so good.

They used to have good service, and the food seems good. But there hasn't been a time in which I return, (not knowing really why) when I promise myself not to go back because of its lack of hygiene. I got up to 4 glasses before getting one that was clean. Silverware, seats, tables, floors, trays... everything is just one speck before calling it really dirty.

Food is really tasty, but a bit expensive for the portions, depending on what you order it may take from 10 to 30 minutes, I strongly recommend the shrimp bowl and the chicken burger, fries with cheese and bacon are also worth it. I just feel service needs to be improved, the waiter was not really paying attention to our table and forgot us for long periods several times.

Un lugar fresco, divertido y una exquisita comida para pasar un rato increible.
It was the late afternoon of my host's birthday when José Luis, his best friend Foras, a young medical doctor, and I arrived at this imposing restaurant situated in a very busy corner of San Luis PotosÃ. It features a huge glass wall which opens upon the aforesaid corner, not a pretty picture. We got the very last table available, which was the very first by the front doors, and a waiting line formed inmediately right behind us. To the left of the doors and all along the glass wall there were 2 long, raised floor levels with tables, bordering a wide open area in the center, which led to the bar to the right and more seating towards the back. The ceiling is very high with exposed timbers, the place is full of light, but feels too airy and it was fairly loud so we had to scream at each other. We bribed a waiter 100 pesos to take extra-good care of us, ordered ceviche (must specify without mayonaise), fried baitfish and garlic prawns plus chips, house guacamole (again, without mayonaise), beers and fine tequila. The drinks came right away and the tapas fairly quickly, no problems there, but everything was over-salted even to my salty taste so we ended drinking way too much to wash it down and ordering more food to try to stay fairly sober to no avail as every single dish we ordered was over salted. Being by the front doors meant people milling all around us, in and out, and talking over the roar of the street behind and the cavernous dinning room in front, but it was also a primo spot for people watching. The clients were decidedly nouveau-rich "güeros" (white Mexicans): pretentious, dressed to the nines, there to see and be seen. The staff, on the other hand, were brown and much more visually representative of the Mexican nation. As the evening drew on, a younger crowd more loose and loud began to dominate the scene and service dropped as our waiter departed. This being a birthday, we bribed another waiter and continued celebrating until closing, around 10 pm on a Sunday. The bill came to ~$350.00 USD + $16 in bribes and $35 in tips; neither the food nor the view nor the ambiance was worth it, and the service would have been terrible had we not paid extra. The one bargain was the booze, we must have consumed way more than one bottle of La Herradura Reposado and maybe 15 beers, however any savings here quickly evaporated by the taxi fares.

At Santo Mar you'll find the best mixture of various Mexican seafood cuisine with Peruvian spice. We serve cold dishes for those sunny days and hot dishes for chilly evenings and a glass of wine. Salads, sushi, oysters, soups, ceviches, cebiches, sashimis
The food was great! I think is the best seafood I have tried in San Luis Potosi. The staff was attentive, although busy. But well, what is to be expected of a crowded place. Regarding the place, is just average, too many tables in a small space. I have kids so I am always looking for someplace that has something for them. And although this place has a gameroom it is quite inadequate, is unsupervised and right at the entrance and we were at the 2nd floor, so impossible to leave them there.

Visited last month for late lunch. The place is nicely decorated and the staff is friendly. We ordered a bottle of Baron Balche, probably one of the best Mexican wines we've tried so far. The waiter brought us artisan bread, butter and saucesWe wanted to start with something we had not tried before, so we ordered "escamoles" a real treat and an amazing Mexican delicacy. Do not miss this dish, you will not regret it!We then had the tuna tartar, so buttery and rich... As third course we had the baby octopus "chicharrones" nicely served in a molcajete with guacamole. The baby octopus were breaded and fried, too much for such a delicate product. It would have probably be a better dish if baby octupuses were grilled to achive the chicharron texture, instead of breaded, but that is just my opinion. We still wanted to try something else and since the pizza oven was right behind us, we ordered a pizza margarita. Simple, good and made before our eyes. We had no space for dessert, it will be next time...
