These guys smash takeaways. Heaps of delicious things that I can't eat, but that's no drama for them. Regularly they throw me together a homemade burger patty made from nothing but wholefoods, wrapped in lettuce with some delicous relish and salads. The best tasting salad burger takeout you'll find North of Auckland. And the plain old fries are what you remember from being a kid, crispy on the outside, fluffy in the middle. BOMB. We're lucky to have them in the Falls!
While sight seeing in Russell a downpour sent us looking for a place to eat and dodge the rain. We found Scales but all the sidewalk seating was in the rain. The wait staff said we could sit in the adjoining tavern, as it was all connected together. We had excellent fresh fish, and the hamburgers were not processed , big, and delicious. The rains cleared and we sat in the back garden where there was a playground for the children. Good food, very good selection of beers and and a place for the kids to run and play. Great find.

Located in Paihia, King Wah Chinese Seafood Restaurant has been at the forefront of the Paihia dining scene for many years.
Buffet Chinese meal with the added extra of superb oysters. Fat and salty. Wine was a reasonable price. $35 for all you can eat! A bargain! We went twice in one week! The staff were very helpful, offering water and anything we may need. Very clean and hot food continually being replaced with fresh food.

My husband and I went here for dinner as it was right next door to where we were staying. The food was really nice although the service was a little sub par. They weren't busy but the service was quite slow. We would eat there again as the food was nice.

The Duke of Marlborough is a 5 Star restaurant with 5 Star service. This is the place to go for fine dining and exceptional service. All of the staff are professional waiters and know what they are doing. The kitchen was well staffed and the food was exceptional too. I enjoyed my dining experience, forgot to take photos ... but well worth a visit. I will be going back and remember to take a photo!

The food was excellent and so was the ambience. It has an elegant indoor dining room and also has outdoor seating. There are views of the harbor from both. We had the tasty very fresh flounder [$37] which is a large whole fish served with bok choy and pomegranate seeds. We also got the fish of the day [$39] which comes with roast potatoes, carrots and courgettes and a sauce. I recommend the roasted vegetables [$9.50] which were delicious. The rocket salad [$9.50] was okay.It claims to be the oldest New Zealand licensed restaurant.
