The restaurant was pleasantly airy and comfortable, very clean. Order was taken and served within 15 to 20 minutes. Food was presented favourably and the children ate their fish bites and chips while my daughter had the most mouth watering barramundi fillet one could imagine. The café was busy being school holidays, the staff were very efficient and polite. Our meal was a great hit for each of us with the children able to play in the park across the road afterwards. Fully recommend a visit to this café.

Go if you must, however there are better choices close by. i don't expect much wherever i go, just good food and reasonable service, this place failed to deliver, the batter was thick and had to much grease. As a past owner of a takeaway store i know you need nice thin batter to make the product nice and crisp.I feel they are trying to improve here, so i just may give them another go at some point....

I work nearby and almost every Friday my work colleagues and I get take away lunch from here. Each new colleague who tries lunch is impressed. I brought my partner here who really enjoyed the salmon but was converted to calamari too. She normally will not eat calamari but is now convinced calamari is delicious. However, if only from Fin Fresh.

What's happened to the Boatshed? I live within walking distance and have been a regular customer for several years even though a little on the pricey side, the quality of the food has always been great. Unfortunately after today, I won't be back. They've cut out their $20 pack and now you have to pay $29 for fish & chips for two. The fish was mushy (probably from being frozen) and no tartare sauce! The two strips of corn and a few lettuce leaves are a waste of time. The seagulls enjoyed it

CLUBS! The same issues of old :(Committees need to allow their qualified staff to actually do their jobs!Having said that most often the food is good, staff are friendly and provide good service.The menu is somewhat overpriced and food servings small and often inconsistent in size and quality, the same item 1 week will be cooked and served differently the next.I do however often go here for a quiet afternoon beer just to enjoy the sunset over the water and Glasshouse Mountains in the distance, a good range on tap though again a little overpriced.

During or day trip to Moreton Bay, we were looking for a lunch who will serve local sea food particularly the famous Moreton Bay Bugs. The local information Centre guided us to the restaurant called Tempest. This is located near the boat club. The look from the outside was not very impressive, but we went in anyway. The place is quite big and offering Japanese Teppanyaki and also western food. After greeted by friendly staff we looked at the menu which includes Bugs. I ordered beef steak and bugs and my wife ordered Salmon and Prawn. The steak was cooked perfectly and the bug was fresh and delicious. My wife commented that this is best prawn shed after a long time. We came to know that the seafood are caught locally. It is no wonder that they taste so very good. The price is also not sky high and serve size is generous. The service was also excellent. I must say that the food we had here is way better than we had in many hatted restaurants in Melbourne. The décor of the inside is nothing flash but one of the best tasting food in Australia.

Hidden away off of the main parade with plenty of parking direct to the restaurant- easy access for mobility impaired. The pavilion has immediate beach views. The day was windy bit warm and quiet within the outside area. The menu is a la carte with a good variety and the wine list is adequate but only one type of choice for variety for by the glass.My barramundi "market fish of the day" was excellent- crispy skin, perfectly cooked- accompanied by greens, potato and a terrific sauce. My wife's green lipped mussels were delicious with only one note that the broth could have been hotter.The second phase with coffee and desert was just as good.Price was very reasonable with excellent table service. Which is attentive but not pushy.We found this by chance when driving to a nearby restaurant on the parade which I had located with Tripadvisor - but this one has the location, the taste, and the value.Try this one!!

We have been there many times over the last 40 years, and we love good food as I have been in and out of the food industry for 52 years, I find there service is always good and their pleasant to talk to, we find the food is consistently perfect. we have family and friends that also frequent The Golden Ox and enjoy going there.

I like the friendly waitress here , the one who is always smiling no matter what . Always happy to serve and makes you feel welcome . The service here has always been prompt and the orders correct . Well executed, simple food of generous portions. The menu is comprehensive without being fussy or over trendy. They use quality ingredients , the dishes prepared with good presentation and obvious care. The other excellent thing here is the coffee . Just a lovely blend of non bitter coffee that is always enjoyable. I have eaten breakfast in every cafe on the strip , for me this one is the best . It is opposite the Redcliffe jetty .
