This place is frequented by 99% local people and was very busy when we were there. It was full of families and young couples and is all outside. The menu is fairly large with an English version available although some of the translations were odd such as " portrait of pigs" and a "fish misdemeanour". We ordered 3 beers and were given a full crate and a bucket of ice. When you finish they see what is left and Bill you accordingly. The total bill for 4 people including 13 bottles Tiger was ridiculously cheap. We then had street karaoke, and dancing on the pavement which was fun. The locals chatted to us and we were the only westerners in sight. If you are in Rach Gia it's a good night out to eat or drink here.
Vietnamese restaurant serving fresh live seafood and all type of exotic escargots and delicacies.
We were on a 6 week cycle tour through Vietnam and Cambodia. We arrived here hungry, but early - maybe around 5pm. We had not had much for lunch and wanted to eat early after a long ride. The first restaurant we chose and were dripped of at was pretty much closed, so we walked along the main waterfront road and found this place. Most of the staff appeared to be having a shared meal, but we were encouraged in and had a really nice meal - basically squid and lamb on the BBQ and a big salad. It was really nice food and service was excellent, with our waiter doing some very attentive coming for us. Very impressed!

Our family had organised a large family & friends gathering in Rach Gia with more than 50 people - this place catered for us with no problems. Pros: centrally located with a good selection of good options. I recommend ordering the suckling baby pig for a group. Good variety of traditional Vietnamese salads also. Staff were friendly and tentative. Cons: the restaurant was very busy over the weekend and became chaotic at times.
Lava is the first place come to our mind when we want to have some bbq.Food is so good and we have a big menu to choose, from bbq to hotpot, from noodles to rice. Their specialties are beef w many sauces to rub on. And fried rice is excellent too.In my opinion, this place is the most professional here. Their staffs are so friendly, serve you like their old friends. Food is served very quickly. Nice menu w images and sub name in English.Believe me, Itâs worth you a visit.
