This Is One Of The Small Kitchens In The Angelmo Market In Puerto Montt And Well Worth A Listing!
The seafood at this restaurant was fantastic and very reasonable priced. There is a good view overlooking the waterfront. Unfortunately the restaurant is shown at a wrong place on the map (Google) It took some time to find it in the main restaurant building on the back side at the Water.

Not hard to find if you are walking the shoreline from town it is the one that is built out over the water and is downstairs with a view back towards the Navmag ferry terminal. We noticed that they were very busy at lunch time so we returned for an early dinner and the grilled salmon and king crab soup dishes we ordered were very good and delivered fast. The portion sizes were generous and priced very reasonable for fresh seafood. All the tables face the view towards the harbor and volcanos.

We went with a large group to dine on a weekday. Good appetizers, and good wine selection. When we ordered the main courses the kitchen struggled to prepare all dishes, but the had the courtesy to serve all patrons at the same time, a surprising professional touch for this latitude. Nice music and beautiful view of the port. We had to wait between dishes because only one waiter attending a larga table. Despite the wait, nice ambience, good music and excellent predisposition to serve well, good job from the waitress.

Nice position on a pier, able to watch the sun setting and see the entire bay. The waiter was very helpful and the surf and turf was well cooked (small steak and three normal sized prawns). The meal doesn't come with any side dishes so everything with the main has to be ordered as extra. As I am on business and by myself ordering potatoes and vegetables was too much for one and they wouldn't reduce the portions, although the side dishes were tasty. I had the local beer which is like a slightly darker Leffe or wheat beer. They had 2 functions going on which meant that I, and other independent customers sat around for quite a while whilst the waiters ran around attending to lots of people at the functions. I felt the price was quite expensive at £25 for what it was and I only had 1 small beer. Not somewhere I would avoid, but I am sure there are better places.

Restaurant Gaia - Peruvian Modern Cuisine. Our cuisine respects the quality of the local produce from Patagonia: unique fresh seafood, locally sourced vegetables and delicious free range meat - prepared with a mix of tradition and modern European and Asia
The concept of "Gaia" is to present flavours from around the world. The slogan in Spanish is: "...un mundo de sabores...", which translates to: "a world of flavours".You can find the flavours presented in the format of pizza such as "Can Cun" with inspiration from Mexico with nachos, jalapeño, marinated beef and sour cream sauce, or "Le Bleu" with French inspiration: blue cheese, fruit confit, beef and rucula.Gourmet hamburgers in another way to present flavours from around the world: "Torero" with spanish chorozo sausage, sheep cheese and red pepper sauce.Other examples are dishes such as "Tikka Masala" from India, the TexMex classic "Chili con Carne, Peruvian "Ajà de Gallina" and "Hummus" from middle east. And not to forget delicious desserts such as "Tarte Tatin", "Crema Volteada" and "Tiramisu".The restaurant offers several vegetarian and vegan options, and to drink, the large selection of freshly prepared fruit juices can be recommended. Or a cocktail or artisan beer...The facilities are nice and comfortable, and are suited both for families, couples and business meetings. The prices are moderate.Highly recommended!

Visited this restaurant for lunch as part of a large group. We had pre-ordered our main course. A very good three course meal was provided accompanied by a cocktail and wine. Service could not be faulted and prices were reasonable.

Pasta and Seafood Restaurant in the area of Puerto Montt , you can find a variety of dishes fine processing, fresh pasta and good quality . Cozy and very good care place .
The restaurant was one of the only places open we could find. I am so glad we did. Despite being dirty for motorcycles on the Careterra Austral, the owner welcomed us warmly. Try the Caldillo de Congrio - Conger eel soup - for a classic Chilean dish. Gave us some extra bread for the next morning at our camp. Muchas gracias.Hope you have a great dinner! have a nice trip! thanks for your comment!

This place is on a nondescript street and the restaurant itself could use a little updating (although maintains an aura of faded glory). That said, they know how to cook seafood, which is probably what you want in a restaurant in Puerto Montt. If they have the machas parmigianas, order it: it's more like a soup than what's typical for the dish in Chile, but it's fantastic. Also get a fish in aurora sauce stuffed with seafood. Delicious. In fact, I'd ask for recommendations. Wine prices are reasonable, and they usually throw in a few free tasting items. I would return.
Where to eat South American food in Puerto Montt: The Best Restaurants and Bars

We visited this restaurant tonight based on the reviews here on tripadvisor. We were certainly not disappointed. It's style is that of a small Parisian neighbourhood restaurant: the daily menu on a chalk board that is brought to your table and a three three-course set menu (for 12k pesos) with three dishes to choose from per course. The food is great: perfectly prepared, creative, perfect portion sizes, friendly staff and the most incredible view of that Puerto Montt bay. As far as flavors and combinations go: this chef can certainly cook! What Borago is to Santiago is this place to Puerto Montt - at least in our humble opinion. Is there room for improvement: sure. The biggest issue we had was the incredible speed at which everything was served. We would have liked some more time in between our dishes. And matching wines by the glass would have been perfect, but I do realize that that is not (yet) commonplace in Chile. So do visit! One word of caution: they don't speak english - not a single word. But that shouldn't be a problem, they are patient and we could understand the menu just fine with the little spanish we know.
