I came to this place because it was second on TripAdvisor, though it was not in my guide. The food was good, but when it came to the bill, they overcharged me and to hide that, gave me a piece of paper with only the total (not the detail). I understand that there is 10% tax added, but it still didn’t add up, so I asked for the detail and basically they had overcharged my two glasses of white wine by CRC 1’000 each. Now granted, the price was crossed out on the menu, but I actually asked why and whether they had white wine, and was told it was all good. He could have told me of a price change then. I think it’s a pity for such a nice place to spoil the entire experience by not being honest to their customers. Because, if I had been told, I’d have been quite happy paying that extra.. it’s just being taken for a dumb tourist which gets on my nerves. I would therefore not recommend this place because the dishonesty makes one feel cheated and low, though the food is actually good.
I am allergic to dust and mold, and the room was full of both, black mold on the walls, a terrible strong smell of humidity, cigarette ash all over the floor, dead bugs on the towel in the beds, a weird bunk bed next to the air conditioning, stained walls, I couldn't even stay for more than 2 minutes inside the room, I must say, the lady was kind enough not to charge me for the reservation, because I had to go and look for another hotel in the area, if I had stayed there, I would have died
La Playa Beachfront Restaurant Bar & Grill offers breathtaking views of the Golfo Dulce and Pacific Ocean, complemented by our fresh, internationally-inspired cuisine. A local favorite is our wood-oven pizzas! Sample one of our cold beers on tap or let ou
Scenic (located with the shops on the waterfront) and comfortable, very welcoming with a menu offering a wide selection. Specialty salads, wood oven pizzas, hamburgers, pasta, seafood, meats, and poultry. Menu is online with prices. Falafel and humus appetizer was very good and a small meal for one person. Alcohol and dessert served too. There is also "dog friendly" seating available too. Currently opens at noon and with happy hour specials. Can be pricey, especially for beverages (wine and lemonade were very small serving sizes). But an enjoyable treat and the Marina is a great location.
Paka Paka Beach Bar!! Hang out on the beach at the new Tropical Bar on the Sand at Golfito Marina Village. You'll love the casual atmosphere of our converted container bar while you enjoy the music, beach, beautiful sunsets, delicious meals and signature
The area is a fantastic location perfect for walking & family‘s or business with growing opportunities. A excellent quality place to eat with friendly staff and excellent food. our group tried a dozen different things from the menu and everything is consistently delicious. Great selection of local and international beer is priced low.

As usual, our group was served a delicious lunch. Everybody seemed to have something different from their famous hamburgers to fried fish to ceviche to nachos, and everyone was thoroughly pleased. The atmosphere is beautiful, and the chairs are very comfortable, something not always encountered n CR restaurants.Highly recommend in Golfito. You can legally park alongside the street in town; it's sort of a Golfito tradition. Just don't totally block the sidewalk.

Went for dinner, looking for something fresh and we're on the coast so may as well have seafood n fish.Ordered a whole Snapper. Saimon(sp?) brought me the Snapper so I could check for freshness, nice touch, dad had a seafood platter. The Snapper was a pretty good size so wife n i shared it. Wish it would've come with something a bit more. We had a salad with dinner, again, nice n fresh. Both were fresh n delicious. Saimon provided good service. A good dinner out.

Don't miss the Costa Rican delicious alternative to potatoes called "Fried Patacones"; they are delish and Elena and her staff make them fresh! Oh, did I mention the freshly made pasta and hamburger buns??? and she has an ice cream parlor there as well!

Loved this great beach bar and restaurant! You can watch a beautiful sunset and drink great Margaritas, mix with the locals and then sit down to a fantastic meal. Lots of seafood or wonderful Mexican dishes as well as local dishes with a twist, very original recipes, so go and enjoy!
