Amazing seafood rice and meat. Excellent wine menu at fair prices. Professional staff happy to help. I had the chance to talk to the owner who loves what he does and has the ability to spread his passion for food. Worth for a great mediterranean lunch/dinner plenty of choices both basic and gourmet.

Settled with having lunch at M&B on holiday as it looked fresh and inviting with a gorgeous view.I settled on "Barbequed" chicken which came with some sad looking potato skins that were meant to be fries. My husband got the prawns with Potato Bravas. The prawns were delicious in a lovely flavoursome sauce but the chicken was horrible with veins in. To not even get salad or vegetables with a dish is unacceptable also.We were even more disapointed when for all of this and 2 Sangria's it came to â¬60! A complete rip off. What I will say is our waiter was really nice and gave us good service. The waitress who attempted to serve us before was really rude and had a constant glare on her face. She let's the restaurant down and I am astounded that she is in a job that requires dealing with people.I wouldn't recommend this meal to others. What a disapointed I wish I read the reviews before coming!

We visited this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. It's a family run business for 40 years specialized on local fish. Tender fish from Palamos was excellent, service fast and friendly. No need to say- really expensive delicatessen but definitely worth a visit.

Went there after recommended from a local person and looking for good seafood.Nice restaurant with good terrace at the end of Platja D'Aro. Our salad was good, Mussels quite small and a bit tasteless and Tuna tataki pretty average. Glass of Cava was offered on the house as a welcome drink. Not great but still ok.

Beware there is no menu or price list, only list of fish on a blackboard in Catalan. It's an odd set up where you stand at the fish counter and chose what fish you want to eat (the menu is in Catalan only) a rude man (we speak Spanish and so were able to communicate but he only responded in grunts) cuts your portion (beware he will cut a big slice and it will cost a lot more than you think, he tutted at me when I asked for my slice to be cut smaller after I saw how big he cut the portion for my husband). In retrospect we should have walked out at this point but we were a bit confused. The fish you have chosen is taken away to be cooked and you are left to find a table for yourself and sit down. The bread brought to the table is not complimentary, although you are not asked it you want it. The fish came as just a big piece of fish slapped on a place with a tiny (one mouthful) portion of garnish, no potatoes, salad or vegetables and there was no option to ask for this. When this bill came we had a nasty surprise. They had charged 60 euros for the 2 pieces of tuna. Thankfully we didn't order a starter as they tried to force us to do and we didn't stay for desert. It was not value for money, and although the tuna did taste nice, we are big fish eaters and didn't think it was anything special. Our main complaint was that at no point was the price made clear and when he was cutting the fish he weighed it but never once said that will be 60 euros is that OK? I later found out that a weight and price does come up on his weighing scale when you are selecting your fish but that is not made clear. We just left with the strong impression that we had been ripped off, paid a lot of money for a piece of fish on a plate. There are so many other better value places who also serve fresh fish, don't waste your money here or be fooled by the nice decor. We are not tight and are happy to pay for a really good meal, but this wasn't it. I would be very surprised if they had any repeat visitors.I felt compelled to sign up to tripadvisor and write this review, as we had such a bad experience, just to review this place and help others to avoid this rip-off.Dear Customer. We regret that our formula has not been to your liking. Our purpose is to always offer the freshest product in fish and seafood and for that reason the prices are indicated, since they vary according to market. Our balance is always visible through a screen where you will find the total price of the account and the weight chosen by you.At no time do we want to deceive anyone, quite the opposite, since the prices, the fish and the total of the account is visible at all times.Even so, we apologize if at any time we made them feel that way.

Restaurant La Calma is located in Platja d'Aro's maritime waterfront promenade, with an open-air dining terrace protected by the cold wind, and a chill out area with beachfront views to enjoy cocktails, tapas, full breakfast, in a very relax ambience.
Youâd be hard pressed to do better for the attentive service and the excellent food. Donât go past the lobster rice... deeelish. The Scampi are as fresh as they come. La Calma has an extensive selection of wines. I recommend trying some of their local ecological varieties. The covered outdoor patio with uninterrupted views to the Mediterranean makes for a great setting to enjoy good times. This place is a treasure. Check it out, you wonât go wrong

Restaurante familiar, comida casera, pescados, carnes, paellas. Restaurante abierto de Abril a final de Septiembre.
So many good reviews, but so very disappointing in reality. Every thing you touch is a bit sticky, not well maintained, I guess youâd say typical touristic restaurant just out to make a buck from the seasonal trade. Had salad (no dressing) and mussels for starters, nothing special although my wife always enjoys fresh mussels so at least she was happy with the starter. Canât say an over cooked piece of asparagus had any place on my salad, but apparently they thought different. Mains was rabbit from the grill (nothing special according to my wife), and a rump steak that wasnât a rump steak. Probably an error in translation to English (although it was also wrong in both German and French). Rump doesnât have a bone in it, this was a bone-in sirloin, that was very rare when I specifically asked for medium. I sent it back, and it returned with the original sides (that were now very cold). Lots of smokers either side of us added to our woes, some of them âinterestingâ clientele to say the least. We will not return, despite the friendly service from a Latvian lady, and the reasonable prices and good wine.
