Drawing inspiration from the regionâs history and natural surroundings, Forge & Vine is 156-seat freestanding restaurant featuring an eight-foot wood fired grill as its centerpiece, an open kitchen with counter seating where guests can enjoy dinner while
Our group of 5 adults dined here on a Friday night. This is an attractive, stylish restaurant and the place was packed. The restaurant and menu have an upscale feel. Prices are on the higher end. They offer a variety of microbrews and extensive list of wines. The menu basically offered something for everyone, although could be much better for vegetarians and vegans. The menu has lots of heavier, "comfort foods." Much of the food is rather heavily laden with butter, oil and/or mayonnaise-based sauces, plus extremely salty. While most of us enjoy well-salted food, here, the salt is on steroids. While the rest of our party of 5 have no dietary issues or restrictions, I have a bad reaction to added oils which is a hazard in restaurants. I had called ahead during non-peak hours and asked if they would kindly make the Harvest Grain Bowl for me without added oils. At first the manager told me that he spoke with the chef, and everything is already premade with oil and they could not do it. I very politely told them that if they would so kindly just cook a small amount and keep it off to the side, I would truly appreciate it. The manager consulted with the chef once again, and told me they would accommodate this request. I thanked them up and down in advance. When we arrived, I referenced the phone call to the person who sat us and also to our server. All seemed fine. The server even asked me if there was anything else they could do to accommodate - I said, "thanks so much for asking! If possible, I'd love the dish to have very little salt." I really appreciated that the server asked me that. When my grain bowl arrived, I was surprised to find that the quinoa was literally uncooked. It was crunchy to the bite. Crunchy, raw quinoa!! Quinoa cooked so fast and becomes soft - I have no idea how they managed to serve me crunchy quinoa without the chef noticing. To add insult to injury, the greens were coated in salt to the point that when another adult in our party tasted it for me (I wanted to be sure I wasn't crazy!), he literally puckered from the salt. It was astonishingly salty. We told the server that the quinoa was raw, and showed him. He seemed annoyed. However, he did appropriately remove it from the bill (I think it was $17 for basically baby kale and raw quinoa). He also comped a dessert to the table, which demonstrated appropriate customer service. A manager came to the table and told me that he personally saw the quinoa from my cleared dish, and he verified that it was uncooked. So, the follow up to my dreadful meal was appropriate and I did appreciate that.I would not rush back here. There are not enough things on the menu that I want to try - they totally messed up the one and only thing on the menu that I could eat given my dietary preferences. However, I would give it a second shot if the rest of my group wanted to go. Perhaps they just had a bad night, with regard to my order and would do better next time.Dear bkramer947,Thank you so much for taking the time to provide this detailed feedback and we truly apologize for your experience. We have spoken with our manager that was taking care of you that evening and he again apologizes for the food quality you received. They were short handed and IMO our waiter was not well trained. He was slow to get orders (35 minutes before we got our orders in), didn't know how to serve a bottle of wine (offer a taste to the hostess before pouring for everyone drinking it??) didn't follow up for second drinks without being chased down and asked. The food was very good; three steaks, high quality meat, prepared appropriately; salmon and cod loins declared delicious. Sides of double done potato, fries, asparagus were good. This is a fairly new restaurant, and they seemed to be short handed on a very busy Saturday night. Maybe better service on a not-so busy night. 'Spensive.

A unique combination of Greek, Italian and American cuisine in a cozy country setting.
One of the best restaurants in the area. Food is excellent and reasonably priced, Service is outstanding. Has recently been tastefully remolded and expanded. Has a local small town feel with food and service that you would expect from a a much larger establishment that features fine dining in a metropolitan area. If your in the area, this restaurant should be on the top of the list

Since opening in 2002, Surf has set the standard in New Hampshire for fresh, exquisitely prepared seafood. Guided by Chef and owner Michael Buckley, Surf has built a reputation for truly imaginative cooking using only the very freshest fish and shellfish.
I visited this place as a part of corporate outing on a Thursday evening. The place was almost full. As the name suggests, this place is famous for seafood but still I managed to find some vegetarian options. Here is my perspective about the place:Food (4.5/5) - I started with a non alcoholic Blueberry Lemonade Drink. It was quite refreshing. Then moved to Surf Styled Tacos (with choice of Tofu). I loved this dish. The dish was made of fried tofu in (3) flour tortillas with napa cabbage, cheddar cheese, grilled onions and peppers, mango salsa, guacamole, and chipotle-lime sour cream. Along with it, I tried their French Fries which were also quite good.Service (4/5) - The staff was very well trained. They were very friendly and good at what they were doing. The only thing which i felt can be improved is that service can be more quick. I felt it was a bit slow.Ambience (4/5) - The walls of the place has sky blue color to go with its theme. Apart from that, there are other artifacts to depict the theme.Overall, I had a great time here. Top Most Highlight - Surf Styled TacosThanks so much for taking the time to leave your feedback! We're happy to hear you enjoyed your visit and were able to find vegetarian options that you enjoyed! We hope to see you again soon!

For the freshest, best tasting, authentic, straight forward Sushi and Sashimi excellence, it would be difficult to find a better place. While I do enjoy the Asian/ Japanese cuisine restaurants that stress their creative combinations and original names, here you find simple excellent. We shared two sashimi and sushi combination dishes that were as near perfect as imaginable. Preceded by a salad and delicious miso soup, the meal exceeded expectations.Should give it a try.
