On a recent visit to the Girona and Costa Brava regions of Catalonia in northeastern Spain I had the welcome opportunity of enjoying dinner at the Ibèric ('Iberian') restaurant in the small village of Ullastret, located just a few miles from the coast. The dinner was superb in all respects, with genuine Catalan cuisine consisting of lots of fresh and grilled vegetables, seafood, and tremendous wines from the local Empordà appellation. A wonderful experience. The restaurant is family owned and run by three brothers. Enthusiastically recommended!!!

The Hotel Picasso is situated in the most peaceful area of the Costa Brava. The quality and variety of its services together with its fine cuisine make it a very pleasant family Hotel. The Hotel is 400 metres from the spacions and solitary beach of La Gol
Yesterday we enjoyed a splendid "menu del dia" (15 euro). As a starter we had "mejillones a la marinera" and " pescado frito anchoas" as a main-course we choosed for the typical "fideua"...It was very busy and we were lucky to become a small table at the small terras along the road. THe restaurant was fully booked but the service was rapidly and correct...also we enjoyed a lot the quality of the food.. we had also a nice bottle of wine...we have to come back because we saw many other nice things on the menu.!!..the bill 42,50 euro...price-wise excellent.Thanys for eating with us. We work hard to make our guests happy and all our team appreciate your feedback.Thank you

This looks like such a promising place. A view over the dunes. Fabulous smells of food. What a disappointment! Even though the waitress who showed us to our table was polite and welcoming, it was all downhill after that. The big problem was the waiters. They were downright rude. They dropped things and left broken glass on the floor. They brought us a more expensive bottle of wine than the one we ordered. It was only a few days ago, but I can scarcely remember the food, as it was eclipsed by the surly service. On a strip with hardly any competition they can get away with it. The kitchen looked clean and well-run and they had an extensive and interesting menu. What a shame. We couldn't wait to get out. Get some waiting staff that do your food justice.

Fresh, simple cuisine, using local ingredients. Products are respected by our chef, and the dishes require no explanation.
This restaurant has a wonderful courtyard setting just at the bottom of the Aiguafreda car park. It has a very relaxed feel. As you would expect, there is a lot of fish/seafood although one of the party ate a very tender and beautifully cooked steak. We ate rascassa fish which was soft and juicy although the fish is perhaps not particularly flavourful in itself so might have benefitted from more seasoning. The wine is very reasonably priced, service quick, helpful and friendly. The owner, Oscar, speaks flawless English. All in all a really lovely dining experience - would definitely go back. Hi, SharonSamantha,Thank you for your review on our place. Some people might agree with you as for the seasoning, but we try to deliver fish as it is so that if offers all it has, without any additional sauces.Kindest regards,Oscar

The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Service was warm and friendly and efficient. Lovely location in the old town. Wine served in a proper wine bucket. A definite winner and we would go back again in a heart beat.

Bar 19th, a cosy English bar with a wonderful terrace on the golf course, to have an informal drink or something to eat. From the terrace you can see the green of hole 9 and the tees of holes 1 and 10, respectively. Restaurant Golf de Pals, surrounded by
Great value for lunch with a dish + dessert at less than 14 eur. Good dishes - good ingredients and well cooked / prepared But gosh the service is slow. There never was a lot of people but every time they just "fell asleep". The best examples: - ordered a pitcher of Sangria. Took them 25 minutes and 2 reminders to deliver it - desserts (2 cakes of the day and 1 ice cream - should be easy): same. Recommended but with a "Spanish / siesta" mindset.

John's place is great. I have been coming here off and on for 15 years. It is always good to great and Joan is always there and always helpful and attentive. he speaks every language necessary and is always happy to let me struggle away with basic catalan.Food is always tasty and good and made in the typical way. He usually has more fish available than other places.

Went here as location is stunning. Between us we had sampled a lot of the menu, this fish got good reviews however there was only 1 vegetarian option which was a bit disappointing! Staff also spoke English :)
