Had pretty good mix of seafood and salami/cheese antipasti, followed by a frittura di pesce and green salad. Wine was interesting and not expensive. Service was very good and child friendly. Would recommend to friends.

This is a huge restaurant , but is rarely very full. The terrace outside is excellent. We ate there twice and had perfect pasta and seafood. Although we didn't have the pizza, they looked great. The wine selection was very good and they sold half bottles of excellent house wine. At the time we ate they did not have draught beer but sold bottle beer. The service was good and the atmosphere impressive. Well worth a visit.

This little italian restaurant at porto palinuro was very good. One of the waiters spoke marginal english and so we could communicate pretty well. We sat by the window and looked out over the ocean, very tranquil. The seafood and pasta was good and they even got my 4 year old watermelon. Very friendly and well priced.

We went to this restaurant upon friends recommendation and we were very disappointed with the experience. As we walked in, we were greeted with bland face from the manager. We tried our best to order in Italian and exchange few polite gestures but to no avail. The manager did not smile or made us welcome (unlike the Italian families who were dining there) we ordered a sea food mixed platter and when it came there were two King prawns, small sword fish and cattle fish. Not great. After the main meal, the plates were cleared and that was that... We weren't asked if we wanted sweet or coffee (again clearly not wanted in the restaurant). I wouldn't recommend this restaurant as the food was ok, nothing special and somehow we offended the manager (perhaps because our Italian wasn't great) and the service was appalling (with a one-fifty euro service charge added to the bill). There are many other lovely restaurants in Palinuro who make you feel like they want your custom and serve you with a smile!

Where to start from? We had an amazing holiday in Palinuro, and Pistolone da Nicola was a part of it. With our one week hotel stay, eating out became our everyday habit. We tried a few places out there, but Pistolone da Nicola was with no doubt the best choice. Amazing an quick service, this place really put customer in the centre of attention. Waiters were going above and beyond to satisfy customers. Food - tasteful, fresh and natural. Portions are decent. You can tell they are really putting effort, both in preparation, serving and generally making customers feel fantastic. They are specializing in fresh fish - what else to look for at the seaside...?

At Restaurant da Carmelo you will taste dishes cooked according to typical recipes and made with fresh, local ingredients. Cold and hot appetizers, pasta, grilled, fried, fresh fish and to close delicious sweets. We cook all our dishes in a tasty and ligh
This restaurant is lovely on all counts. The location would initially make you think twice as it is close to a reasonably busy road, but don't let that put you off.Once you enter the restaurant that gently terraces down, you get a feeling that it is quality. The tables are well laid out, plenty of room between them, with linen tables cloths and napkins & quality cutlery. The service is attentive without being in your face and the staff are happy. The focus is seafood and the menu is reasonably short, which in my mind is a good thing as it means less pre-prepared and the focus on quality not quantity and this was certainly true on this visit. We decided to have a 1st plate (primo) rather than the traditional primo & secondi and we not let down. The scampi, ricotta ravioli and the prawn, pepper spaghetti were wonderful! The latter very simple and very tasty - both were great! Accompanied by a simple tomato & basil salad and typically good bread we were content. The house white is a pleasant wine with a very subtle slight fizz, we would recommend ordering the 1litre carafe as the 1/2 litre will be gone in no time! We opted to have the house desert, but this was the only thing that let the meal down. It was a fresh fig millefoglie a layered pastry slice with confectioners/vanilla custard and one of two was spot on, the other was not quite and the pastry not light/cooked enough. The figs were delicious and was accompanied with some fine fig jam/coulee. The big surprise, and knowing this we would of been unlikely to order desert, was rather than a traditional lemoncello we were presented with a large glass bottle of what can only be described as cold melted chocolate and two small glasses with a spoon! This was fantastic and something we had never had before. Overall the restaurant is well worth a visit, reasonably priced, great quality and we will be going back!

This place was discovered by me this year, have been to pisciotta/palinuro for many years now but have not until now explored this beach. This year we did and found it lovely. A nice bar/restaurant and sun beds where available. And the walk down from roads end was so beautiful. Walked through some sort of jungle and at the end through a green portal of trees grown together. Worth every drop of sweat, rewarded with crystal clear water in the ocean at the end.
