The quality of the fish and chip were excellent, the refurbishment in the restaurant is brighter and modern, The menu choice and service is excellent with all children meals under £5.00, If I have to add a negative the front entrance layout will not encourage customers to come, in the restaurant as the entrance is narrow, if this was opened up, it would work..

Small harbourside Cafe, Bar and Bistro, boasting fabulous seafood, breakfast and a licensed bar. South Quay are open 7 days a week. Offering a fantastic outside seating area in the sun.
Bar staff rud No need for it sorry not all the bar staff just the woman that came from Liverpool .???????Hi William, sorry to hear about your bad experience with us. Unfortunately I am very confused by your review, mainly because we do not have any staff who are from Liverpool, or speak with this accent. So I am unsure why you are aiming your review towards this person?! Please look again at your review as I think you may have the wrong establishment. Thanks

Visited for breakfast whilst on holiday as it had been recommended to us. We both had eggs benedict, one with bacon and one with smoked salmon. Friendly service and tasty food. It is slightly pricey but for the quality of food, definitely worth it if you fancy treating yourself. Thank you for your great review. We are glad that you enjoyed your breakfast with ushere at Below Decks.

A family run fish & chip shop with excellent food and smiling staff.
But have often heard great things about the food. They were not overstated. It was without doubt the best so far in my long life of food quaffing, in particular fish and chips.Haddock in thin light and very crispy batter and the best chips in a very long time. Service swift and friendly portion size good and value excellent.Four very happy and full dinners left on a cloud of contentment.Well done Richard. You are deserving of the highest praise.

First time visit based on online reviews. Firstly, the service was very good, efficient and friendly. The portion size of the plaice and chips was very reasonable, but I have to say that the batter was a little heavy for my taste although nice and crispy. Also, have to point out that the online restaurant menu does not reflect the actual in house menu, they need to update it as the prices have gone up. Overall not a bad fish and chips.

Visited here while staying in Paignton for a week. The name suggests a diner serving burgers but it is actually a lovely little upstairs restaurant majoring on fish, overlooking the sea. Because we were near the front of the restaurant (but not on the balcony bit, which might be a bit chilly later on) we could see Torquay across the water gradually lighting up, which was very pretty.I treated myself to scallops followed by the lobster. The 3 large scallops were very nice and cooked just right. The lobster felt a little small for the price (I appreciate it is a very expensive fish) but was nicely cooked and has been well prepared - no need for all of the âequipmentâ required to dismantle and eat a lobster that has only been cooked. My wife enjoyed her vegetarian starter and main. We did not have dessert. Our bottle of white wine could have done with being a bit colder. It was understandably busy, as it deserved to be. Friendly and efficient staff. Sensible prices given the premium location.Recommended.
