I've transferred the trains at Odawara station several times, and most of the time, I took time to try local restaurants around. This restaurant 魚國 is my favorite restaurant. It serves traditional Japanese 定食 (Teishoku); most of them are fish based (sashimi, baked or broiled). Very good flavors. Friendly services. Reasonable price (dinner 1600-2000 yen range). I'd come back here to eat again and again.

This place sits less than a minute exiting from the left of the East Gate of Odawara Station. It serves very fresh seafood rice bowls. I love the anchovies served 3 ways. Sweet! I yearned for more and wouldn't mind returning here again. The place is a bit small with limited sittings and it is likely that one may have to queue during peak hours, either for lunch or dinner. By the way, this place was Michelin listed in 2015.

The wows are to the extreme level here! Maximum taste. Such a wow large tasty prawn! - but okay. If you can not speak or read japanese here is the deal: write your name and number of people in the book outside and wait to be called, there is always a line up at this place. And for good reason! Do not come too late at lunch time 1 pm is pushing it. Make sure you know what you want before you are called in. They will ask before you go inside. Best idea is to take what they recommend to you the horse makeral is the specialty I liked the shimp and scollap that came in a combo type dish. Also got sashimi which was really good. Many wows all round well worth the wait. Thank you very much.

Farm to table buffet restaurant in Odawara. Choose from more than fifty local dishes and our famous Kamaboko which is a traditional Japanese seafood products. Our chefs go to the local Odawara fish market and local farmers deliver their fresh seasonal veg
Elenagosso is a part of the interesting Kamaboko Village in Odawara. It is located between Odawara and Hakone so a convenient stop for anyone passing through. We stopped to try the kamaboko making experience and had a great time. While we waited for our finished products to cook we ate lunch here. The prices were reasonable and the selection was great. It gave us an opportunity to try different products and learn about the different tastes and flavors of the local food. And the BIG highlight was that Suzuhiro also brews the local craft beer next door! We had a wonderful local pilsner with our lunch and would like to have tried the others if we had more time. The staff were very nice and communicated well. The food was excellent and atmosphere welcoming. Highly recommended for those on their was to or from Hakone. You will most likely pass it on your way from Odawara to Hakone anyway.Thank you so much for coming. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our food and beer. We have about 50 different dishes every time and change our menu regularly depending on what is the best in this season! Hope that you can come back again.

Found this restaurant via TA (thanks ;-), and it made us choose Odawara as day trip from Tokyo. The restaurant is easy to find, close to the railway station. You can register at the door (n° in your party etc..) on an i pad.. we didn't quite get it at first, but were swiftly helped out by another waiting (Japanese) customer. As it was a weekday, and getting somewhat late, we did not have to wait long at all. The (lunch) menu is quite extended & offers a lot of options in various price categories. Our waiter (+/- native American English speaker) was very helpful and we opted for the Odawara Rakuten lunch menu & the Odawara sashimi&temura lunch menu. Presentation was beautiful, and the taste & freshness were really awesome, loved every bit!! A visit to Ryo Odawara is worth a (big) detour!
