Four of us went for dinner on a quiet week-day night: Three of the four had pork and clams, a Portuguese classic. Primavera's version was served on huge platters on which diced home-fry-style potatoes were used a bed for the pork and clams. While the pork was flavorful, it was also undercooked and tough. The clams, which should have been the size of littlenecks were instead quahogs, not cooked properly and virtually un-chewable. The addition of some of the stewing juices might have been helpful to the overall quality of the dish.A shredded cod salad was inoffensive and not memorable. What were absolutely brilliant were the desserts made in-house, an excellent flan and especially the creme bruleeâdon't leave here without trying it!The selection of Portuguese wines was good although the waitstaff had no knowledge of what they were. Fortunately we did.Service was averageâno complaints. Ambience is home-style and straight forwardâno frills.

I had forgotten how good it was. Or maybe it is better.I attended an evening function here, and the food was served for the meeting cafeteria style. Nevertheless, everything was excellent, especially the paella, the sausages, and the marinated chicken. Very tender.Servers were all very helpful and accommodating.

I saw an email about some of the best lobster rolls around and Max's was the closest for me and my family. We were not disappointed at all. The location was great. The staff from the host to the guy that sat us to the waiter was top notch. Never having been there before, they made us feel welcome. A great experience for me and my family.

Wow. This place isnât fancy on the outside, but has some of the best seafood Iâve ever had. Got the fishermanâs platter. Fish was light and perfectly cooked. So was the shrimp and clams. Good coleslaw and the onion rings are are delicious. Worth making a trip out of the way to come here. Lobster bisque and New England clam chowder were delicious as well.

We had a great experience this time around. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated before our reservation time. We had a great table location and our server (Jay) did an excellent job. His timing was impeccable, and he offered up a few things to do for our visit around the area of our hotel, and we went to one of them. We had a perfect date night dinner complete with a drink. I had a Main Filet Mignon and my wife had the Petite Filet Mignon, and we split a Caesar Salad, Roasted Rainbow Carrots, and the Chipotle Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese. The Filets were cooked as ordered and were delicious. The Mac and Cheese is to die for. The portions were plentiful, and we ended up taking some of the Mac and Cheese home. Unfortunately we didnât have room for desert on this trip. To make the evening complete we were able to meet Liz (the operating partner) and told her what a great job Jay had done. She was extremely personable, and we were lucky to have gotten a moment to say hello. A much better visit than our first time, and it was great to be able to write a more positive review. We will be back again in the near future.We are so happy to hear that you had such a wonderful experience with us here at Fleming's in West Hartford. Jay is one of our prized servers and does an amazing job! We understand there are many restaurants to choose from in West Hartford, and we thank you for joining us here and giving us another try.
