Gourmet restaurant that combines tradition and innovation in a refined and welcoming location. Wine list varied and cured. Meat, fish, vegetables, homemade desserts.
I was embarrassed I recommended this restaurant to my friends. No sparkling wine while selecting the menu set the tone for a disaster ahead. Expecting fine dining we booked the traditional tasting menu. Ritz biscuits as one of the appetizers! Over cooked pasta followed potato balls and potato cake. The only saving grace was the wine. Poorly trained young waiter. The chef in fairness offered dinner on the house but what an evening a real shame!

Just outside the old town, this is a neighbourhood restaurant mainly frequented by Italians but probably used for something a little bit more special. The owner really takes pride in his restaurant. Reservations necessary. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. A very enjoyable experience

We have a second home in Salento and have tried many local restaurants. The standard is this area is high and hidden in the back streets of Martano is this absolute gem. We had dinner first as a couple and enjoyed every course, the risottoâs are excellent and I had fresh fish as part of the â catch of the dayâ. Delicious! My husband loves pizza and he believes this is the best ever! Thin crust, very tasty toppings.. 10 out of 10! The service is exceptional too and all so good that I returned 2 days later with 5 local lady friends for lunch. Everybody loved it, especially my Italian friends who loved the pasta dishes. Needless to say, we are returning again and now have âOperaâ down as a regular for the future.

Meal was very good, service was somewhat negligent. Overall, we enjoyed it but didn't go back. Perhaps we were too early in the season.

We went for dinner in this restaurant and, as soon as we arrived, we were stunned by the beautiful location in harmony with the century-old monumental olive trees. We came back six times in ten days, which speaks volumes to how delicious the food is. Everything is superb, from the starters to the desserts, and is in religious accordance with the traditional cuisine of Salento. Every dish is carefully explained by the very kind staff, which speaks very good English. Andrea and Alessandro are the kindest and most accomodating hosts ever, while their mother is the main cook and their father supervises with great experience and savoir-faire. We recommend the "Antipasto Gli Ulivi", the Carpaccios of Swordfish or Octopus and the delicious Insalata di Mare. Let the staff explain you the several kind of flours from antique grains that they employ in making their pasta by hand, which is the most digerible pasta we ever had. The "Sagne al Ragù di Seppia" and the "Pasta di Riso Venere con Polpo e Funghi Cardoncelli" are simply irresistible, so much that we had them several times. The fish of the day is beautifully prepared and served, and the "Pezzetti di Cavallo" (diced horsemeat) is a real treat. Five stars is an understatement. Keep up the good work!

typical and traditional cuisine based on fresh fish. We work an booking and if you have special requests we can make it all. You are welcoming. Thank you il paisiello
We ate dinner at this restaurant, primi of a spaghetti con cozze and scrigni agli scampi then fillet scottona for secondi, Nergoamara red wine and local ice cream for desert. All the food was freshly cooked, delicious pasta dishes and tender scottona. The restaurant was busy and the waiters were attentive. The chef came around to check what we had thought of the food after wards - nice touch.

The reviews are great, we couldnt get in on our first attempt as they told us it was full. (I now have my suspicions if that was true)So we booked with high hopes. Its a beautiful looking restaurant (apart from the toilet seat that needs replacing). The service however was strange and uncomfortable as it was so fast. Plates were delivered one at a time and finished plates were removed whilst the other was still eating (because their food arrived late). There needs to be more choice for children. Children are not easy so why not have at least one simple solution perhaps a pasta with a simple neutral sauce. The waitress suggested a swordfish. Ok we took it but it arrived exactly that. No potato, no chips Nothing. We took mussels (obviously cooked) raw tuna (obviously not cooked). Should be simple to serve both at the same time but apparently not, the cooked dish arrived 2 or 3 minutes before the uncooked dish. For primi we took 2 daily specials and again they arrived 2 or 3 minutes apart. The restaurant was not busy and even if it was it would be wrong. Its a shame as this was our 8th dinner in Puglia and by a long way the most disappointing. We left without a main course, dessert or coffee and still paid 75 euro. Yes they gave a small discount but that not the point and the pleasure was lost.

We just spent 3 weeks in Italy and dined at a number of mid and high range restaurants each night and most days for lunch. My husband and I rate this restaurant as our number one choice for a number of reasons:- the host/waiter's (Giovanni) service was impeccable, the bread was all freshly made and delicious. We opted for the a la carte menu and each dish was fantastic. The price was very, very reasonable. We also had a great Puglian red Primitivo wine, very good and very reasonably price. Only 6 tables. You can see the creativity and care that goes into the food. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Nardo Food Guide: 10 Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Nardo
Restaurant specialized in tartare and other fish/seafood dishes using the freshest ingredients of the local area.
Even though it isn't centric it is easy to find, its goal to serve local fish in a contemporary way, different from what it is usually found in Lecce's centro. I am vegetarian and was pleased to find an aubergine and mint tartare, I didn't feel the mint but I still enjoyed it, it made feel pleased and relaxed. Then I tried the whole grain fusilli with four vegetables, it was good but lacked the magic that the tartare had. I finished with a panna cotta. Go try it for a special moment. Thank you for your visit and for your extremely useful feedback! We'll work on improving our dishes to make you even happier next time you'll visit us!
