Things to do in Muxia
Camerieri attenti e gentili, servizio molto efficiente. Consigliato!

Ate late in the afternoon when typically places are shut. Was recommended, and the view and the food was superb. Pretty full even by 6pm. View of the beach and the surfers in the distance was peaceful. Would go back for both view and food.

Where do I begin the list of faults is sadly long. Having found our first restaurant choice on the Thursday night of our visit closed with no explanation we headed for the number 1 TA rated restaurant in town - The Villa de Oro.When we arrived the lights were all out and the place looked closed apart from a few locals guys watching soccer on TV. The owner insisted they were open and ushered us in despite our misgivings we had no other place to eat so went in.The menus arrived and we ordered ....firstly Pimentos de Padron , but er no, not available , so we asked for the octopus and again .....er no, not available which seemed odd in a fishing town that specialises in octopus, equally having watched the mussel boats come in loaded to the gills there wasn't a single mussel dish on offer. In the end we had some prawns on the plancha no doubt from Equatorial Africa which were ok but hardly out of the ordinary. For main course we ordered Caldeirada Mixta which was described on the menu as " like bouillabaisse " - I've eaten enough bouillabaisse and bourides and fish stews in my time to sink a ship and this was nothing like it, and in fact was one of the most disappointing I dishes I've seen consisted of three large pieces of white fish, we think was hake of some kind surrounded by sliced potatoes and peas probably frozen and in some oil based liquid , and that was it, unseasoned, bland and very very ordinary. Neither of us finished the meal. The only positives I can find were the portions were large but little consolation given the quality and the wine was very pleasant. Adding insult to injury we were even charged a euro for bread.....come on that's a bit rich when the whole meal incl coffee was 60 euros! Among the worst value I can recall. Having had to pay for in a long time. We won't be going back and if I were you I'd head for the delightful town further along the coast westward called Muros, prettier town and better restaurant choices.

We stayed on the campsite next door and wanted to treat ourselves one evening. We had a simple starter of pimientos de pardon which was well prepared followed by fish, Sargo à la plancha, if I remember correctly. The fish was excellent, fresh and well prepared. I wanted a bottle of young fruity rouge to accompany the fish as my partner doesn't drink white wine and the owner suggested a bottle at â¬9 which went perfectly with the meal. The tiramisu maison was also good. Altogether an excellent meal of outstanding value with service to match. Oh, and the setting sun over the bay was gorgeous.

Very nice lunch of pimientos de Padrón, pulpo, and mixed fish. It was a busy midweek lunchtime but the service was excellent and the food simple and very tasty. Good location. Would recommend giving it a try.

Decided to try Bar O Porto instead of eating every meal at A Marina. Not disappointed. The food and a nice cold beer made for a pleasurable lunch with nice outside seating.

A great restaurant with a wide range of seafood and fishes on the menu the prices were adecuate. I highly recommend Sargo (seabream). Situated in the harbour right by the main road. The only negative thing, like in many spanish restaurants, was the fairly ignoring service and a wait for the table even though there were some free ones. Highly recommend!

Yes, the restaurant is closed. For how long, I don't know. From what I could make out, there was a notice (in Spanish) that mentioned issues with health and cleanliness. What was specifically disappointing for me is that it is the only restaurant in Muxia that also caters to Vegans and Vegetarians... and there are few enough of these in Spain

Our party of 3, after a long day hiking and sightseeing, was eagerly looking forward to a "special" dinner in this highly regarded restaurant. I'm happy to say we were not disappointed. The dining room has a lovely maritime ambience (the website pictures are accurate!). The dining room is medium sized but the tables are fairly close together. However, it was a quiet night, with only two other tables occupied when we visited. So I can't comment on what it would be like if full.Service was helpful and efficient and the staff were very friendly. Menus were available in English if required. For starters we had: Pimientos Padron, Sopa de Marisco and Ensalada de Pina. All good portions, excellent quality and very tasty. For mains; Bacalso Brasa, Solomillo and Paletilla Cordero. All had the "wow" factor.Washed down with a bottle of the house recommended Refugallo Godello (â¬18) and two (pushed the boat out!) bottles of Refugallo (Ribeira Sacra) @ â¬16. The 0.5l bottles of water were only â¬1.50, no rip off here. The total bill (before tip) came to â¬126.50, food cost just â¬72 of that figure. An excellent meal, great value and overall a very enjoyable experience.
