Things to do in Muar
This restaurant is along Jalan Ismail not very far opposite the Government Pejabat Haiwan (Veterinary Dept). The restaurant looks like an old dilapidated small zinc roof building without wall or fencing and most areas of the floor are not concreted. They only cater in the evening starting from 5.00 pm. and maybe to 7.00 p.m.They offer very excellent sea food such as crabs cooked in either spicy sauce or steamed crab, prawns (friend or steam) and also fish. In addition, they also offer rice and noodles.Be early when you want to have your dinner there as there will be not much parking space as the whole area will be full.Price of seafood there is quite expensive.
This place is slightly out of the way, and was a little hard for us to locate, as it did not show up on our GPS sets. However, it was worth the trouble though. The food was of good quality, and prices were reasonable. The service, while not exactly fantastic, was at an acceptable level. Some of the dishes they offered were rather unusual, and mostly tasted good. Prices were also reasonable, although they are definitely not the most affordable option you can find in the area.We quite liked the setting too. There was plenty of greenery around, with some interesting-looking plants. Feels like a nice place to have a relaxing meal in.Worth a visit for lunch!Do however note that most of their dishes are seafood dishes. It is therefore not suitable for people who do not enjoy seafood or who are allergic.

This restaurant is supposedly famous amongst Muar residents for seafood. What that basically means is that you will need to wait a long time for your food. The food can be good depending on what you order - some of the fried stuff is good. The assam fish was too watery for my taste.
I must compliment the owner for adding the fresh water prawn into mee bandung. Its certainly an innovative way to gave a 'wow factor' to this truly wellknown Muar dishes. However the dish need to be as authentic as possible, especially when it is tagged as 'special'. Service is good and spot on. Nice and clean environment.

This restaurant is constantly packed. The best time to go is about 6 pm before the it is crowded. The seafood in this restaurant is fresh and prepared very well by the chef. The fried mee hoon with crab was one of the best that I ever tasted. The yam ring was the best that I have eaten so far. The sweet sour fish with fruit was also very good. Everything I ate in this restaurant was delicious.

Do take note that they're currently undergoing renovation so they're setting up their stalls at the parking lot temporarily, so don't be surprised when you visit this place. boy, i must say, you must eat it with their chilli on every table, it's goes so well with the sotong goreng. you have to come here, so that you've truly been in muar.
This restaurant is 300 meters from where I stay and I frequently customized with my wife. They cook sea food very well such as Assam Pedas, Sweet and sour fried fish and many varieties of Sea food such as prawns and clamps. Price is moderate. It is not a restaurant with a proper building but with a hugh galvanized iron roof with the sides all opened. The several chefs doing the cooking can be seen beside where customers sit and it is a wonderful sight to see them cooking while waiting for our turn to eat. It is around the corner of Jalan Junid and Jalan Khalidi, Muar.

This restaurant is about 15 km travelling from Jalan Abdul Rahman, Muar travelling down South on the way to the small town of Parit Jawa. It is not too far from the sea (Straits of Malacca) They cater specially Asam Pedas fish plus other spicy food such as sambal prawns and vegetables. The price is very reasonable. Normally A dish of Asam pedaa with a fish of 500g plus vegetables and rice for four would cost RM25. Parking by the side and by the river is very easy with lots of parking lots.
