ROK is a fine casual restaurant focusing on serving high quality food in a friendly relaxed environment.
This is right across from the Hallgrimskirkja church. We were unsure but went in and were glad we did.The food here was great they serve it tapas style so that makes it really expensive, Each dish is about 1.600 Ikr and you order 3 to 5 dishes each.It was spendy but it was really great food. We went in October and it was not full at all and we did not need a reservation.

We keep it simple yet delicious, serving only fresh pan fried cod with either a side of fries or salad. It is a food trailer with one of the best location in all of ReykjavÃk, in a beautiful garden between the famous church, called HallgrÃmskirkja and the
Tasty, fresh, flaky, huge portion and great value! Pls note that the owner moved the Wagon from its original location to the premises in front of Hallgrimskirkja Church. Enjoy!

Icelandic traditional food made as street food. In the morning (8-11AM) Breakfast & Coffee, all you can eat - 2200kr. Starting at 11:30 - 23:00 in the night: Traditional Icelandic Fishermans Favourite with bread on the side. Traditional Icelandic Shellfis
We really did not get this place. It gets great reviews and looks good from the outside, but inside most of the tables (on the left) sit in a draught from the door every time it is opened (we recommend sitting up at the front counter furthest to the right as you enter which is about as draught free as it gets). The food is average and overpriced (even for Iceland), and served on plastic coated paper plates with plastic cutlery. So presumably not recyclable (apologies to the restaurant if we are missing something here) and not that nice to use. There are three dishes on the menu - two soups and one unpleasant looking fish and potato stew. The best thing we had was a Douro red wine. Sorry to say we would only give one star.Hello richardemail Thank you for taking the time to review Icelandic Street Food! We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your experience with us. We appreciate the feedback and are always looking to improve.

Really lovely tasty food. Only around 8 dishes on the menu but all cooked perfectly. Great price. Always full which is expected. Quick service and lovely polite staff and I loved that they leave all sorts of spices and sauces out to help yourself and add to your food. As a spice lover this was inspired. Highly recommend

We are a family run restaurant with Icelandic home cooking. Our specialty is on seafood and Icelandic lamb. We also offer a choice of three or a five course set menu OPENING HOURS: Lunch: 11:30 - 15:30, Dinner: 17:00 - 22:00
Old Iceland Restaurant was recommended to us by the staff of the Sküggi Hotel (excellent lodging!) specifically because I have dietary restrictions. The wait staff and the kitchen are well educated about celiacs disease and food allergies and made me feel very confident upon ordering. (Those of you who have celiacs know the anxiety that comes with eating at an unfamiliar restaurant.)My husband and I each got a different starter and different meal and swapped half way through. Everything we had was so delicious that I regretted being over the age of 5 and couldnât kick my plate without ending up shamed in a YouTube video. The gluten free bread and seasoned butter was so good that I thought a mistake had been made and it was ânormalâ bread. Not only did we have a glorious anniversary dinner our first night in Reykjavik, we went back two nights later and had the soup as a main course... AND went back our last night to have the shellfish soup starter and the cod entree.I am looking forward to coming back to Iceland... yes, itâs a beautiful country filled with welcoming people... but Iâm coming back for the soup.

What a fabulous fabulous fabulous meal! We had the AMAZING fish soup and cod tartar to start. I could eat the fish soup everyday for the rest of my life and never tire of it! I had the Ling fish which was the best fish I have ever had. My husband had the Plaice fish which was great as well. We finished with the coconut panna cotta. What a tremendous meal. Great staff. Great ambiance. Winner, winner!!

Family owned and run restaurant in the heart of ReykjavÃk. Cosy and relaxed atmosphere with traditional Icelandic quality food and personal service.
Reykjavik Kitchen does not take reservations but it's well with waiting for. Arriving 7:30P on a Saturday evening we had to wait approximately 45 mintutes. You can have a drink while waiting but there's really no room other than standing room while doing so. When we were finally seated, everything was brought out in a timely manner. Our group of four ordered the same appy's and entree's. That was too funny. Starting off with a salad we then each ordered the coffee smoked salmon and we had the black pasta for our main course. For dessert we spit the homemade vanilla ice cream with hot raspberry sauce sprinkled with chocolate ash. Fantastic to say the least.

Laug-As was suggested to me for my motorcycle tour group of 10 people for our 'Welcome Dinner'. With a great reputation for excellent food, I wanted the group to experience more than just one entrée. Chef Johann and the owner accommodated us perfectly. Guests tried things they probably never would have if not for the Family-style method of being served. So the lamb, the Beef, the Fish were all fantastic... and the special desert was also a topper.

Open for for lunch Monday to Friday and the whole day and dinner Tuesday to Saturday. The restaurant is closed on Sunday's.Gallery Fiskur is located next to the Arbaer open-air museum in Reykjavik and right by one of the main roads from the city center. I
In an unusual location outside of Reykjavik , you will find Gallery Fiskur, an excellent place to get fresh seafood. The citrus cured arctic char is an excellent light starter, with the crunch of a nut and crouton mix and pomegranate giving it an elegant complexity. The peppersteak halibut is excellent, fresh meaty halibut paired with a strong black pepper coating, with a nice mushroom cream sauce. The plokkfiskur- cod with mashed potato and cheese, is a traditional, decadent Icelandic dish . The Haddock Monday style also was a nice set of fillets, with potatoes and seared vegetables. They have a selection of drinks- wines, beers and softdrinks. Service is friendly and provides good suggestions. Nice place for good tasty seafood.

Ate a great lunch here after getting a recommendation from our Dive.IS guide, Since we had just finished our snorkeling adventure, we arrived hungry and ready to eat and drink.
