Although not 100% authentic Italian, the twist to the cuisine to fit the culture of the People of Mombasa has made this restaurants food very very tasty. We had the pizza and pasta and both were perfection. Will be back here shortly to try something else.

Our Imani Dhow is a so-called Zanzibar Jahazi that was built over 45 years ago. In the past it weighed about 90 tons and on its way between Zanzibar, Dar-es-Saalam, Tanja and Mombasa it transported diverse products like cotton or corn and many more. Under
Went to this place on our last night in Kenya and this was the best dinner Kenya had offered. Enjoyed everything from the tasty meatballs courtesy of the chefs to every single aspect of the entire meal. Was a little disappointed that the dhow didn't move but the atmosphere is still very calm and beautiful. You get a discount here is you are staying at the Severin Lodge. This is 150 m walk on the beach from the Kenya Bay beach hotel where we were staying. I really loved this place and will visit if am ever in Kenya again Jambo dear Sweet_NK,Thanks a lot for your positive review about our famous Imani Dhow restaurant.Yes, the dhow does not move but has a fantastic location with view over the Indian Ocean. However it used to sail many years between Mombasa and Muscat. We would be happy to welcome you again on our dhow. Maybe next time try our dine & dance offer every Thursday night at our Severin Sea Lodge.Kind regards from sunny MombasaJames OwitiResident Manager

Formerly a holiday house on two floors overlooking the white, sandy Bamburi beach 12 km north of Mombasa island. Il Covo opened its door in May 2003 and since then it has been the top dining and entertainment venue in Mombasa. The lower veranda overlooks
Been here several times- mainly for lunch- the place was serene and the waitstaff polite. Loved their pizza- actually the reason I keep going back! That and the ice cream- its super fresh and they've got the most interesting flavours. I definitely advice you to give it a go- especially over lunch when its not too busy- ideal for a leisurely meal.Thank you for your favorable rating and review. We are glad to note that overall you are happy with our offerings. I will certainly share this with the team. Thank you for taking your time to let the world know of your wonderful experiences at Il Covo Mombasa. We look forward to being of service to you on your next return.

My wife has had an eye on coming to this restaurant especially as she made the photoprops for the opening of the place. So Valentines dinner was the perfect opportunity to have a meal here. The place is cosy with wall decors of old Msa pics.Friendly staff who will guide you to the menu too. We had ordered pizza as starter and a fish & prawn dish as mains. Food came in reasonably good time.It was nicely served and portions were good too.The quality of food was nice as well.Had a good time and enjoyed the meal.Definitely will visit again to try out other items.Hi Aamir! We are so thrilled you enjoyed The Fort Culinary Experience. We always looking to making special days like Valentine's Day grand occasions! The location & view are all this restaurant has going for it. Its certainly not the food. I went there at lunchtime. After waiting a good 45 mins the food arrived. The food was pre cooked & from the freezer, not only that but it wasnt even properly defrosted in the microwave & it was still cold in parts. I had to send it back, staff weren't interested & it was microwaved again & returned to me. I spent the next 24hrs plus very ill. Be warned don't eat hear!

Smart place this. Lovely seating area and bar. Lots of ceiling fans creating a through draft as the sides are open, perfect for a Mombasa December. Very friendly and professional staff. Food was delicious and portions were on the large side. The Bentos were esp good. Good value. Good drinks choice. Recommended.

The Menu and food are out of this world. The prices are ok considering the quality of service and ambience. This is my second review on the place in the past couple years, but we were so impressed with the new manager Allan, the chef Maina and our waiters Chris and Jennifer I had to endorse it again. The pasta's white sauce was so-o-o delicious as was their salads. And one cannot forget to mention, they make the best margaritas in Kenya. The only complaint is that the weather is so nice, it melts your drink quickly, so one has to drink quickly, third world problems I guess.

Traveling with colleagues who had not been to Mombasa one had to take them to the tamarind. Sadly I think the standards have dropped. The sea food was nothing special. The service slow and far from courteous. But embarrassing actually after having promoting the place solidly all day. If you have to go to say you have been do so but donât expect anything special. Dear William, Thank you for taking the time to review. We are really regret that your dining experience did not meet with your high expectations and you were actually embarrassed after promoting the restaurant to your colleague. It is most unfortunate that the sea food was nothing special and that you found the service slow and discourteous. We are sorry that we obviously fell way short of our customer service mark which is to provide the best for each and every one of our guests, and it is only through feedback such as yours that we are able maintain and indeed where necessary improve upon the services that we provide. Your comments have been shared with the team and the issues you mentioned will be addressed. Kind regards Geraldine
