New Orleans style absinthe and oyster bar
Place was jam packed on a beautiful Saturday night as are many restaurants in nyc. We had a reservation for 7:00, so we walked in and got seated immediately. As we are just sitting down, the hostess proceeds to tell us that they "need the table back" at 9 pm. We are three girls celebrating a friend's birthday dinner. We have all traveled around the world and eaten in many of the top restaurants in NYC and abroad, and that was our first experience hearing something so RUDE. If that is the restaurant's policy, then they should make absolutely sure that upon making a reservation, the people are told just that. Because then I can decide if I actually want to dine there or not. We had a great server named Daniel. He was extremely attentive to us, very kind, and he was really busy. We expressed to him at almost 8:30 that most of our food hadn't even come out yet which he obviously realized, and your hostess is telling us we have to leave in a half hour!!!??? He told us not to worry and it wasn't a problem that the table was ours. Nice, being that we ordered a ton of food, oysters, cocktails, and dessert and spent plenty of money there. Aside from the hostess comment, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The restaurant is beautiful, the oysters were delicious, we loved our cocktails and our server Daniel was terrific.

The best octopus this side of Greece. The calamari is not bad either. Lemon potatoes as a side are a great compliment. The fried potatoes were not as appreciated.

been meaning to try this place again after several years, and finally made it. We remembered our original Impressions were good when we first visited. While the bread was tasty again, freshly based with a nice dipping sauce, the rest of the food was uninspiring. While my wife thought are fish dishes were Bland, I would just say that they could have used some additional herbs and spices. This time we tried the sea trout and the flounder. The waiter to his credit warned us that the flounder would not be very meaty and that was quite true. The sea trout was the better of the two dishes. Service was otherwise quite good.

Trip Advisor reviews brought us here. We have eaten in Astoria over the years. Bahari is by far the most authentic of all the greek places we have tried. Dress was street casual. There was no wait Saturday 5:30 pm. The waitress brought bread and water promptly. I ordered a house roseâ that was light and crisp. We shared a Greek salad, and a plate of the traditional dips. They were delicious. My husband had the grilled squid with potatoes. He said it was done perfectly. Another waiter explained to him that the squid is thicker than the one they make fried calamari with. I tried the stuffed cabbage in a lemon sauce,a first for me, it was clean tasting definitely made with good quality meat and a side of string beans. Iâm not greek but I have to think this is an authentic dish. Dessert was on the house. Nice friendly atmosphere. The only negative is the sound is very loud and itâs hard to hear each other. We will return. The prices are reasonable for such well prepared food.

Saturday. Arrived at tail end of brunch. All good until shift change and our waitress disappeared (around 4p on a Saturday). At this point we became invisible. Food was good. Bus service was good. Waitress service gets failing grade. Its really hard for me to not want to leave a tip. This day warranted it. (We still left 15% and that was way generous). Owner was there and he too was oblivious to the problem. (I hope he reads this post.) We were really dumbfounded. Brunch over at 330. Recommend not arriving between 3-330. After or before should avoid the problem we had.

We usually order the ravioli. Cheese is our favorite. Portions are wonderful tasting and very filling. Salads are fresh and crispy and nice sized. Dressings are fresh tasting. Homemade bread is hearty and delicious. Staff is most friendly and attentive. Prices are very good. Going to try their cauliflower crust pizza next time. This place is so clean and kept one would think it is brand new but it is a well established place. When he can, the chef comes out front and checks on every table. Casual dress. This is a 5 STAR Restaurant

Visited Miller's Ale house in Rego Park to have dinner and catch up with an old acquaintance. Parking was in a pay lot across the street. The restaurant was quiet on a early Monday evening. There was music playing and sport on the televisions, but not loud enough to distract from conversation. We were presented with a menu and beer list. Sadly the beer list was not kept up to date and it took several tries to find a local beer to drink, as beers seem to come on and off tap frequently. The server had to make several trips back and forth to the bar to check. The beer that we had was served well and tasted decent.I had ordered the Zingers salad with the Mt. St. Helens sauce. The salad was excellent, though the sauce was not as hot as expected. It was abundant and I could not finish it all. Would visit again.Hi there, Bergholz. We apologize that you did not have a great experience at our House. We started of with pisco sours and then had appetizers and entrees. The food tasted excellent, service was superb. It comes with quite a price tag though. For special occasions only.

Went here after the Bushwick Art collective for a couple drinks and light fare. First off, the "painkiller" frozen drink was outrageously good!!! The tuna tartar was tasty and fresh. Gets a very young crowd with lots of energy. The bartender was friendly and helpful.

We went to this restaurant to celebrate our friendâs 80th birthday. Although we traveled a distance to eat here because we wanted a special dinner, our waiter seemed uninterested in serving us. A simple request for an extra glass was met with the response: itâll be a few minutes. Really? The bar was a few feet away. When we told him that we were ready to order, he told us he would take it in a few minutes. This was how the whole lunch went. My request for no garlic was not heeded and was sick all evening. He even forgot to put a candle on the birthday girlâs dessert even though he was told. This is not a cheap restaurant - the bill was about $50 per person for lunch. Unfortunately the tip was automatically added, otherwise I would have left far less. There was no need to please us when you know you are getting 18% of the bill. We will never go here again! He truly spoiled the day for everyone, but especially the birthday celebrant.
