McLean (/məˈkleɪn/ mə-KLAYN) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County in Northern Virginia. This is second review of this establishment. Loved it for lunch so we were very anxious to try their new Sunday brunch. Tried it for Fathers Day. One thing we noticed immediately was almost no cars in parking lot but recognize that their location is off the beaten path and brunch is new. Only two other tables occupied when we were seated. Buffet set up was ok. The âcarving stationâ advertised was brisket sliced and left under a heat lamp - not what I would consider a âcarving stationâ but brisket was ok, nothing fabulous, however. Did not try omelette station so cannot comment. General area had eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, spiced shrimp, lox, cream cheese, salads - ok but not very warm and obvious that some things had been sitting. Dessert station had some small pastry items and something in a warmer, possibly bread pudding. Ok but no comparison to the fabulous desserts we had previously had at lunch. Asked for bread and received a basket with donut holes, biscuit, and pieces of a waffle ... kind of different. Before leaving a family of four came in, looked around at the tables, and opted to leave ... this was around 1:30 which one would think was prime time. While we wanted to find the fabulous food that we had previously at lunch, and find a new place for Sunday brunch, we agreed that we would likely not return. Sad as we like the decor and recognize that brunch service is new, but needs a lot of work to come up to other offerings in the area. Will try lunch again so wonât write the restaurant off after this experience. Hopefully lunch will be up to the standards that we had previously experienced. This is a 30 minute drive (during non rush hour) for us so we hope our next visit wonât be our last. Still holding hope for another great lunch soon.

It's a new place that has just opened. I just got back from dinner and wanted to rave about what a great addition it is to our county.
Sigh - Iâm underwhelmed and disappointed - but it wasnât bad to be clear. Is it a Nola food hangout? Not really. Is the food bad? Gumbo was not good (light colored roux was the first bad sign). Rest was fine - but not memorable. if you want a fish bowl sized drink and decent shellfish steamed in a bag - want to connect with friends and laugh - decent place. If you are pining for good authentic, good Nola food - I feel u will be disappointed. Iâd need to try a few more items to definitively say no - but I wonât be going back. Did not try the crawfish, etouffee, jambalaya (only had chix and sausage) or beignets (served with a strawberry sauce - what?). I know.....if those are outstanding - Iâd try it again but my spidey sense says nooooooReview gives pluses and minuses. Went on Mardi Gras as Bayou Bakery in Arlington closes after lunch and Acadiana in dc closed for food in November (whyyyy?). Had hoped for some related food and or bite of King Cake (none. Zippo. Sad face). Theyâve served in the past our server said so that was a puzzle. Place was packed. Upbeat atmosphere. Nice servers. You can talk at a normal volume which is great actually. Tables covered in paper. They provide - bibs - buckets for shells - tons of napkins and handi-wipes. Restaurant was Clean too which is not always the case in Nola. Ha. If you sit near the windows in the winter you will get cold - feel like a grandma saying that but it is true....folks were putting jackets back on...Beer selection is good - about 20 beers in bottles (lots of Abita) and two cheap beers on tap and one Abita which was fine. Some mixed âfish bowlâ-sized mixed drinks - sigh - thought about a margarita but I really donât need a fishbowl. Iâm guessing this might be a draw though for those reminiscing the seamier side of Bourbon street. Only non-fried vegetable is a side salad. Had gumbo (not special - do not order). Sigh. I ordered boiled shrimp - side of sauce, rice and sliced, grilled andouille. Three types of spices and you can order it mild - medium, etc. big shrimp. You can only order by the pound so I took half home. They were good. The shareable boiled shellfish options looked interesting and you can share. Five options where you can get 2-5 types of boiled seafood (not MD crabs to be clear) - but good choices. Option includes sides like corn- potatoes boiled in the bag. Started in the -$60 ish range for shellfish options and 3-4 sides (split). You can order with three different spice combos and mild to extra spicey. Nice. They offer crawfish, shrimp, two types of crab (king crab) and sausage. Hope next year theyâll add king cake at least. Sigh.

My daughter and I came for lunch. Parking available in the back. She had the grilled shrimp wrap and I had the fried oyster po-boy. We both had onion rings. All very good. Key lime pie for dessert was delicious and the right size. Will try again with my wife.

My first visit, but met up with family members who were regular patrons of this cafe. Very extensive dinner menu including various european cuisines. I had the crab stuffed flounder which was very good. Service was attentive. Our party included an elderly aunt who placed an "off menu" order which was filled with respect and no hesitation. That alone was enough for me recommend this establishment.

Certainly felt that we were eating with the "upper crust" at this popular place in Tyson's Corners. Expense account or lobbyist prices combined with extraordinary food. The seafood tower is a wonder to behold. We ate lightly off the appetizer menu. I had crab cakes and my husband enjoyed the Norwegian salmon. Too rich for my blood.

Located in the heart of McLean Square, Assaggi Osteria is a neighborhood staple for upscale, regional Italian cuisine. Adjacent to the refined osteria, Assaggi Pizzeria offers Neapolitan pizzas and small plates in a casual, modern setting. Both concepts o
The main restaurant is fine but the so-far hidden gem is the pizzeria attached! I had their salame piccante which featured a spicy salami, tomatoes, mozzarella, and bell peppers - I asked for onions as well. The crust was a superb Neapolitan style with bubbly edges and enough firmness to support the toppings. The Chianti I had with it was perfectly matched. This was my first visit but certainly wonât be the last.

Simply amazing ... as always! This place never disappoints. It has something for everyone ... and it is ALWAYS done right. I have tried virtually everything on the menu ... more than once ... and it is consistently delicious. And the service is always there, hovering at just the right time, and predictably professional. And the decor and atmosphere is lively but intimate. And all this in a Mall? Yes!
