These guys are trying to rivisitate the excellent Salento cuisine in a modern key. Excellent result I must say. We tried pizza gallipolina that was fantastic and well presented. Then we had space for a couple of appetizers (cozze and tartare of prawns) both very good. Tried a local wine, a white 14 degrees. Paid a very fair price. We visited Casarano by chance and ended up at Valente. Absolutely beautiful from the minute we arrived. A stunning courtyard. Divine music and an organic wine. Followed by a brilliant octopus salad. Pasta from the gods and a dessert to die for. Worth every penny

Nulla di particolare soprattutto perché guardando la location una persona si aspetta un servizio all'altezza, il servizio invece è risultato totalmente inadeguato. La signora che ci ha servito al tavolo ci ha sparlato male di altre persone sedute ad altri tavoli (ricordo ancora che ci ha parlato male di qualcuno che aveva trovato dei gusci di pistacchi nel piatto ecc ecc)...No, assolutamente questo non è il servizio che una persona cerca durante una cena tra amici, l'invadenza e l'arroganza al nostro tavolo da parte di questa pseudo-cameriera ci ha solo infastidito. Cibo discreto ed adeguato il prezzo.

We ate 2 dinners at Lo Sturno during our holiday in Puglia. The setting in small piazza is pleasant, the staff were quite friendly and spoke some English. Recommended for a good value, tasty meal.

The food was absolutely delicious, the staff extremely kind and dining on the terrace was beautiful. We had the cascata di antipasti -- highly recommend it if you go! Nothing was a better choice: the food was outstandingly good, dishes we never tasted before. Local wines, a pleasure to enjoy! Danilo, the chef, was presenting the menu himself: this is a dinner to remember!!
