For 30 years I raved about the BBQ shrimp at this once fine restaurant. Now after our recent visit I was disappointed, disgusted and frankly embarrassed for bringing my friends here to pay for an overpriced meal! The food quality was very poor, the shrimp was over cooked and mushy and the key lime pie crust was soggy! And to make matters worse, our waiter was a borderline sociopath! It a shame my memories of this once great restaurant have been shattered by this unforgivable experience! Do not go to this place for dinner. Go to GW Finns if you are able. Soo very sad we went, my fond memories have now been destroyed!

This out of the way place was suggested to us by a local, we were looking for good local food, nothing fancy. Between the five of us we probably ordered everything that was suggested to us by our server Paula and were impressed by everything. The food was good, the portions were large and the service was fabulous, definitely worth the drive out of the downtown core, we will be back!

I went to this location for brunch with some of my friends during a group vacation. Overall, the experience was ok. We were surprised to learn about the various added charges for things that seemed like very basic substitutions. I ordered the French Toast and the portion size was very small - you only get a single piece. The server was very nice and actually brought me another one. I would consider returning but probably wouldnât actively plan to go back.

Mahony's Po-Boy Bar is fabulous! They offer all of your favorite Po-Boys, and many other special seafood offerings. And, they offer many tasty adult beverages. The Staff are First Class - friendly and professional. Magazine Street is a special place (just south of St. Charles Ave.) definitely worth a walk/visit - SO many nice bars and restaurants to visit. The locals all know this place - it gets busy because Mahony's is fun and offers great food. Enjoy; we sure did!

We arrived to day and wanted a casual local dining experience. This restaurant was recommended by the inn keeper. It was perfect. Food was home made with the right amount of Cajun. Only thing we regret was that the dinner was so good and filling it didnât leave room for desert.

Commander's Palace welcomes everyone but we do have a dress code. It's a festive atmosphere! Shorts are never allowed. Inventive modern New Orleans cooking coexists with our Haute Creole. Sense the team's professional grace clothed in the warmth of the Br
We recently dined at Commanderâs Palace, an old favorite. We were seated in the Garden Room upstairs where we could see the live oak trees. The crowd here seemed like they were in for celebrations. Several tables had balloons. We went for the tasting menu with wine pairings. Why not! First was yellowfin tuna carpaccio with olive vinaigrette served with Billecart-Salmon Brut Reserve. Excellent paring! This was followed by a couple of fried oysters with a white Rhone. Next was pan roasted fish with crab meat over white beans with tasso. That was an interesting combination. Wine was an Oregon Gamy. This was followed up by a palate cleanser of gin and cucumber. The meat course was Louisiana Wagyu Beef with a Lake County Cab. The is was the best dish of the night! Dessert was pineapple upside down cake with Tokaji, another great match! Commanderâs is an elegant place and the food can be adventurous or old standbys.

Palace of po'boys. Family owned and operated for over 100+years, starting in 1918 as a bar and dev'd into cooking plate lunches for longshoremen and river front workers. Shrimp, oyster, ro. beef, sausage. Leidenheimer bread. Surf and Turf (combo shrimp and beef). A little off the beaten path but well worth the travel.

This is a NOLA classic with perfect service and perfect food. We had a reservation and were seated right away despite it being crowded. The drinks were perfect and the started came quick and were some of the best. The Red Fish was perfectly prepared and I even enjoyed some bread pudding. We even saw the Manning's!

Bayou des Familles, a lazy waterway home to many alligators, turtles, egrets and other wildlife, takes center stage as our restaurant's design provides its diners with a natural picture show. It's in this setting where friends and family unite to experien
We drove the very short distance here after the swamp boat tour and thoroughly enjoyed everything about this restaurant. Our window seats looked over a sunny area of the swamp where we watched birds and something meandering through the flowering plants. The food was delicious and service was great. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.
