The municipality comprises the villages of Maldegem, Adegem (nl) and Middelburg. Kleit (nl) and Donk have always been separate hamlets of Maldegem. On January 1, 2006, Maldegem had a total population of 22,289. The total area is 94.64 square kilometres (36.54 sq mi) which gives a population density of 236 inhabitants per km².

A Groupon booking for 3 courses for 3 people tempted me to book, not knowing anything about the establishment. How glad I am that I did!The quality of the food, professional service, excellent value and attractive interior made this a lunchtime to remember. We have all agreed that we want to return, but without a Groupon voucher we will choose one or two courses, I expect.The tartare of Atlantic salmon was delicious and a very generous portion for a first course.The Surf and Turf steak and scampis were excellent, full of taste and extremely tender - cooked to perfection. My congratulations on sourcing such good meat locally.

Deze middag langs gegaan na reservatie. Waren de enigste tafel.Snel besteld. Het eten na 15 minuten aan tafel. Kippegyros en vispannetje. Niets speciaal. Gewone keuken. Doen dit thuis dagelijks.Had beter verwacht.

Wonderful food; great presentation but not over-fancy. Lovely people and very pleasant service. We choose 3 courses from set menu with recommended glasses of wine. And beautiful location in tiny small historical village of St Anna ter Muiden, literally on Belgium-Netherlands border. This restaurant is a pearl in the crown of Zeeuws Vlaanderen.

Celebrated my wife's 40th here whilst staying in Bruges for the weekend, it was recommended by Hotel Van Cleef (amazing hotel). We were not disappointed, the standard of cooking and presentation was very high and the waiters and sommelier were excellent. We opted for the 6 course tasting menu with a flight of wines and everything we tasted was "wow", the pigeon was particularly incredible. Chose this restaurant based on previous TA reviews and what a great restaurant.Tasteful decor, friendly and helpful staff.Food sublime, filet of lamb ( nicely matured) cooked to perfection with rosemary jus.Wife had brill with noodles, samphire,hint of spice.Highly recommend this place.

We had dinner with friends at The Schaapskooi last weekend. It was a very positive experience. We had the in-season mussels and they were delicious. For starters I had the foie gras and that was very tasty too. The portion were huge. The wine list is pretty extensive (not cheap) but we managed to select some really good wines. People were friendly. When in the neighbourhood of Knokke or Sluis this is a great option.

Carpe Diem was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a lifetime of fine dining. Rates 100 in every category from the first welcome to a surprisingly modest bill. The variety the menu offered, presentation, attentive and very helpful service, quality and imaginative preparation, overall ambiance - all first rate. Reservations recommended.

Came by to this place by chance, driving from Belgium to Amsterdam. They had a lunch special, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service perfect! It's worth a detour for a lunch inside or outside, weather permitting. It was a pleasant surprise in a small village.

We finally succeeded in visiting this restaurant (since it moved to this new location). It's not easy to get in during weekends. You have to make a reservation well in advance.We had something to celibrate and went last thursday so no problem getting a table. We chose the menu and had great lobster as first dish. Everyone of us found it delicious ...Our main menu was a very nice piece of meat (sorry, forgot the exact name) with a super-fantastic heavenly pepper-sauce and fresh french fries.We ended this great evening with chocolat moulleux and/or cheese.Really a place to visit !!! Even if you are not from the region ....We certainly will be back !!!
