Went here for a last night after several months in Indonesia. It is a very big restaurant serving fresh seafood. Like most of the places in the area, you can pick your own fish from a large ice tray and have them grill, fry, or otherwise prepare it. Fish was fresh but the selection was a bit more limited than some of the nearby places. Price was intermediate. The service was friendly and prompt. We also ordered a pepper crab which was fairly bland compared to others I have had. Overall this is a good place but nothing special.

The restaurant was fairly empty as we went at lunch instead of dinner. We ordered crabs, prawns which were more standard seafood dishes and a couple of more unusual dishes - one with chicken prawn mined meat topped with a crispy chicken skin and a seafood soup with gelatinous fish lips. All were delicious. Special mention should be made of the crabs which were of very good quality - the meat was firm and although the sauce looked rather strangely red, it went well with the crabs. The prawns were prepared in a simple yet delicious soy based sauce. Overall, an enjoyable meal.

RM Ulu Juku' as the name suggests this restaurant comes from the Regional Language Makassar (Ulu = Head and Juku' = Fish). Restaurant Ulu Juku' means Restaurant whose main menu comes from the Head of Fish. Various fish served in this restaurant. Like Palu
The place is clean and functional. The parking space is very challenging, narrow inclined way with sharp turn. This place sold red snapper fish head in two variants: gulai or pallumara. The pallumara soup is the most favorite and must try. The silky savoury and sweet turmeric coconut milk gravy combined with the soft fish head meat, taste heavenly. The price is very affordable. Try the local dessert called barongko, which is pureed ripe banana combined with egg and coconut milk, wraped in banana leaf and steamed, served cold.

If you are interested in tasting one of the best Makassar foods, you should try the various types of grilled fish in the restaurant Lae Lae. It offers many kinds of grilled fish with a variety of sauces to rock your mouth. One of the favorite dishes is steamed fish eggs. Its prices are affordable as well.

As is usual in Makssar, English isn't very common, but when our waiter recognized the language barrier, he got a friend to help translate (very kind given she didn't work here or anything). Basically, you select your fresh-caught fish, and then they cook it in the style recommended or that you select. We tried an array of 3 fishes and enjoyed them all - very fresh and tasty, and the odd-looking one that we were told was like "chicken nuggets" was - indeed - like chicken nuggets, LOL. Odd, but interesting. Definitely check the place out if you feel like fresh seafood - and while we always worry about "market price" rates in the US, in this case, "market price" was like 7-8 bucks for an entire fish, so by US standards, it was a massive bargain
