I have been to Blue Marlin several times; however, it has been over a year since my last visit. On my most recent visit, i was surprised at the changes. We always get the Oyster Po' Boys, which consisted of almost a dozen oysters on a hoagie roll.On our most recent visit, everything has changed. First the Oyster Po' Boy was more like an Oyster slider. The sandwich consisted of a stale roll with a few oysters. Second, it is almost a self service restaurant - you have to clean your own table, order at the counter, and get your own drinks. It is apparent that the staff is over worked.

First let me say, I loved going to Harbour Inn during the time I lived in Lynchburg. It was my go to place for seafood. Even after moving, we would visit Lynchburg and eat at Harbour Inn. We ate there in April of 2017 and it wasn't very good but we assumed that it was just a bad day. My family and I visited Harbour Inn last weekend. The food was extremely salty and greasy. Everything from hush puppies, shrimp, and catfish all tasted the same. Luckily the salad bar is still decent. We definitely do not plan to eat there again.

We were there for lunch on a Thursday so it wasn't too busy. We sat inside, because it was extremely hot. We ordered the Mediterranean wrap and fried brussel sprouts. The fried brussel sprouts were out of this world. Absolutely delicious. The wrap was really good as well. My only complaint was the slow refilling of our glasses. The restaurant was clean and I would eat there again, if we are in town.

My husband and I went there for Lynchburg Restaurant Week. We'd just come from the movie theater so were a bit early for dinner so we sat at the bar and had a couple of beers (it was happy hour so draft beers were only $3 - including local craft beers). The bartender, Anton, was very personable. Once we were ready to eat, we headed downstairs to the restaurant. The bartender down there asked if we had reservations and when we said we didn't, directed us to sit at an unreserved booth. When he brought the menus, he explained that the softshell crab was an option for restaurant week even though it wasn't listed on the menu. My husband ordered them with coleslaw and a side salad ($1 upcharge for the salad). I ordered the 1/3 - which is one jumbo lump crabcake and 3 seared scallops with 2 sides (I got creamed spinach and a side salad too). Appetizers - I got the blackened shrimp cocktail and my husband got the fried calamari. Shrimp (6) were large and were perfectly seasoned. The fried calamari was very tender, lightly breaded, and perfectly cooked. Salads were Ok. Not sure why they felt they were worth an extra $1 -- lettuce, couple of slices of tomato, and a few carrot slivers. Now the seafood entrees--- BEST SEAFOOD I've had inland and even better than some coastal restaurants we've eaten at (and we've lived in Virginia Beach, Charleston, and Savannah). The crabcake was not breaded too much and didn't have a lot of filler like some restaurants like to do. Lots of crab and perfectly cooked. The scallops were superb!! Some of the best I've ever eaten. The creamed spinach was very good as well. For desert, we shared the jumbo ice cream cookie - the perfect end to a near perfect dinner. My rating isn't 5 star and that's because there was a small puddle of water under our table. While I understand that we'd had torrential rains the last few days (and just prior to our arrival) and the restaurant is downstairs, there shouldn't be puddles of water under the tables. We could see where it'd seeped in through the wall so they definitely need some structure repair/sealant. All in all, the great happy hour prices and the EXCELLENT SEAFOOD will keep us coming back.

Located on the Bluffwalk in historic downtown Lynchburg, Virginia, Shoemakers American Grille offers fine cuisine in an upscale industrial setting. Its shoe themed rooms and décor reflect Lynchburgâs rich history in the early 1900âs as the mecca for all t
I had a lovely family dinner at this restaurant. My major complaint is with the entrance. My mother is 93 years old and me and my siblings took her for a motherâs day dinner celebration. There are very steep stairs that my mother had a very difficult time going down on entering the restaurant and then even more difficulty leaving. This definitely needs to be admended.Thank you for your review, Deanna! We are glad to hear your meal was wonderful! We apologize if a server or host was unable to answer this question, but we do have an elevator in our facility. You are always more than welcometo go through the Craddock Terry Hotel entrance and take one of their two elevators. One elevator leads you to the patio level, and the other takes you directly into the middle of our restaurant. The hotel always has a Guest Service Representative at the Front Desk who will happily assist you with directions. We hope this helps for future visits!
