The Lost Cajun- Lubbock

Our family enjoyed a great Cajun meal for lunch. The sampler is a great idea for anyone unsure of Cajun food. The portions were large and everything was freshly cooked. They have a lunch special too. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. The jambalaya was a favorite. The catfish was excellent.

Jazz is a standard college type venue with Louisiana style food. There is a lot of fried food, but we were happy with some of the non-fried offerings. It is a cute place. The walls are papered with dollar bills and lots of Cajun-centric decorations.Nice for a simple lunch. It is very close to the university.

It’s a good sized restaurant and can accommodate many. The service was good and quick and everything was clean. I had the blackened catfish with a salad. The salad was lacking and the dressing seemed to be a little watered down. The rest of the food was great! Some of my partners had the fried fish and fries and said it was great. We will probably eat there again before we leave.

I visited a Joe’s Crab Shack after they opened a location in Austin several years ago. It was decent. I decided to visit the Lubbock location recently. The food was the worst seafood I’ve ever tasted everything way over cooked. Never again.
