While staying with friends we went to the Southwood Kitchen for dinner. The staff was very friendly and we were immediately seated in an alcove which was a very relaxed environment. My husband and I love oysters so we ordered a dozen and were not disappointed. They were fresh and delicious! Our entreeâs consisted of roasted rabbit which my husband absolutely loved and diver scallops which were prefect.y prepared and succulent. The two other entrees were shrimp and grits and scamp which our friends thoroughly enjoyed. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful with ordering. It was a wonderful evening and we look forward to returning whenever we are in the area.

Not the best fish seafood in the area and the prices are expensive! Been to a handful of other seafood restaurants in the area and found both the quality of food and prices better! The layout is not great either! Service is excellent!

I've gotten to go food here several times. I always get the shrimp and grits. It's good but I wouldn't call it excellent.

Our first visit here, and the food was excellent as was the service. Nice relaxing atmosphere (Except for the screaming baby several tables away!), and a very pleasant experience. May stop by again on the way back home. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that no warm rolls or bread was included. Should have been for the prices.

GooRoo's is an unusual place now-a-days because the burgers are fresh. The cooks don't just throw some pre-frozen patty on the grill. It is also reasonably priced and usually crowded...which tells you something!

This is a great restaurant. Wide menu selection. Gumbo is house specialty. Served in a form bowl. Side Bread was really good. You have to order it. Seafood Trio is 19$ and worth it. Plenty to eat. Did not eat dessert. We read about this location on Trip Advisor. It is a family restaurant and it was packed Friday night 6-9. Mostly locals. 5-6 miles off I-10. The food is superior and service is really good. It is worth the time. We will return. Building Is plain. No flashing lights. Second location in Mobile.Wow thank you for the high praise. We love seeing when someone has a wonderful experience . thank you again and look forward to seeing you. Happy Eating Zack

My elderly dad was with us and loved the food and the friendly people. The owner is from Louisiana and knows what he'd doing!!! Has a nice salad bar too. Highly recommend! You won't be disappointed! We're happy that you, your Dad and family enjoy our Cafe. Thanks so much for taking the time to give us such a great review!

My wife and I were traveling from Texas to Navarre, FL. It was lunchtime as we were driving along I-10 and I actually found this restaurant on my Iexit app. Had a great Yelp rating and was only 1.5 miles off interstate. I didnât doublecheck on TripAdvisor as we were so close. We were warmly greeted by Mike who invited to sit anywhere we wanted. There were several patrons dining there for a fairly late Saturday lunch. The restaurant was very clean and comfortable. Mike brought us our beverages while we perused the menu. Found out then that he has been the owner of this restaurant for over 25 years. As a retired banker, when I hear about a restaurant that has been in business that long, you can pretty well bet that the engine is hitting on all cylinders. I felt good about my choice of stopping at Sea and Steak. My wife and I each ordered the fried shrimp and crab claw platter. It comes with two sides. We both ordered Cole slaw, she orders a baked potatoe and I opt for the Lima beans. Mike brought out our Cole slaw first. Hands down, the best Cole slaw Iâve ever had (sorry Mom). Not dry, not too wet and perfectly seasoned with just a small little kick to it. I was thinking maybe I should have ordered a double order of slaw as my sides. Then came our main courses. A good amount of fried shrimp and crab claws that were delicious and perfectly fried. You know you have good fried seafood when you donât need to dunk it it tartar or cocktail sauce. We never touched a sauce. Mine were accompanied with some great tasting Lima beans. My wifeâs had a baked potato that was, well, it was your standard baked potato. Even the hush puppies were done to perfection. Food quantity was certainly ample, there was no way we would have room for a dessert. At $16.99 per meal, I thought it was reasonably priced. The restaurant does have choice steaks on their menu as well as quail but when I do pass through this part of the planet again, Iâll be back to this restaurant for another round of seafood. Kudos Sea and Steak for a job so very well done!

This restaurant has been here 23 years and no wonder! Unlike eateries around here, they serve local meats and produce in season from surrounding farms. Unlike other seafood eateries, this place serves only local, wild-caught fish, shrimp and oysters. They offer a country-style lunch buffet and the meal from there made us think we were back at Grandma's. The service was excellent and the prices reasonable. Stop here on your way to the beaches and you'll be spoiled by the quality of food here!

Once again Danny Lores and staff at Iveys prepared a delicious meal for lunch, piping hot, rib eye salad with homemade blue cheese, pan-seared super fresh salmon with scallions and cream sauce served over sautéed vegetables all served with enthusiasm by Amy, one of our favorite servers. Kudos!
