Fine dining and great view The luxurious ambiance of the Chimera restaurant is the ideal setting for a taste sensation experience of the aromas and flavours of the Aeolian Islands. The chef loves to reinvent with a modern touch and creativity traditional
We stayed at a nearby hotel which had arranged "half board", which means set menu, with Chimera. Basically, we were given a one page re-used menu which provided a few of the cheaper items off the main menu. Our friends were not on the "half board" arrangement and needed to order off the main menu.It didn't start well for us. We wanted to sit on the outside or inside terrace, however were told this was not possible. We were placed inside, with a wall between us and any view. We were tired and didn't complain because we figured it would be best to eat and move on - we were the first or second group to arrive. Our starters arrived promptly and were quite good - 3.5/10. This occurred simultaneously with the arrival of the other customers and that's when the night deteriorated. We were basically ignored for the next 2.25 hours whilst main menu customers were served. There were at least 15 tables that arrived after us which were served 3 courses and departed before we were served our mains. We complained to the wait staff 3 times and then the manager. He could see we were very upset and went to the kitchen. Our mains quickly began to come out piecemeal and haphazardly. The steak and pork were virtually raw. One guest could not finish the pork and the other the salmon capachio, which was a packet of salmon dumped on some rocket (disgusting) - see pics.Staff were attentive, however this is the only positive feature of ChimeraWe will not returnWe would like to thank you for writing a review about your experience. We are deeply sorry for what happened that night. We could say that it was a very busy night and that sometimes some issues occur, but we are well aware that our words would not change how you felt that night. So we would not look for any excuse or justification. We just want to say we are deeply sorry and thank you for this feedback that will help the management to investigate better about what went wrong. We are sorry you did not give us another chance, because, after all, we are human and, even if we cannot delete that night, we could have at least tried to make it up to you. We do offer a gourmet experience that other guest in the past and still now are able to enjoy and end their dinner well satisfied. We hope you will stop by one day to give us the chance to surprise you in a very positive way.

We dined here on our first night on the island. The owner very kindly picked us up and took us back to our airbnb place. The restaurant alas was almost empty which I found odd at the beginning of the high season. Alas they only had sword fish on the menu and I would have expected a better variety on an island in a seafood restaurant. We had the buffet for starter and it was interesting but cold. The main dish was ok but nothing to rave about. As other have said the menu is limited but the food is ok and not expensive.carissimo recensorelei scrive che il menù non era ricco di scelta, menù con molto più scelta è segno di scarsa qualità , comunque otto primi sei secondi di carne in più il pesce del giorno a scelta e venti antipasti circa per me non sono pochi.Noi usiamo solo prodotti locali dai nostri campi e pesce rigorosamente fresco.Ha trovato poco pesce perchè in quei giorni era cattivo tempo di mare e i pescatori non sono andati a pescare.alla prossima occasione spero di poterla soddisfare di più.Giacomo

This restaurant was an absolute delight to find in Lipari. English was spoken. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. It is a popular spot with locals. The service was professional, perfect timing between courses. Any pasta dish is good, cooked to perfection. The absolute delight was discovering the canoli! They were by far the best we had on our travels throughout Sicily. They are to die for!! The canoli comes filled then you have dishes with fillings to top them off. Highly recommend this restaurant.

During our stay in Lipari we ate at several restaurants from the most prestigious and expensive to the cheapest. This one was the best.Good food, well cooked, well presented and very tasty. Service was very pleasant and effective. It was deservedly busy so booking is essential.Recommended

I had dinner with my friends here and we found a friendly atmosphere with tasty food. The main courses were excellent, whilst the second dishes had some imperfections. The terrace is beautiful, with a magic view toward Salina island.Highly recommended.

Very helpful staff who were willing to help me choose a dish that suited my dietary requirements. Food was superb and loved the extras to start including bread, olives and another hot fried bite sized food that we couldn't name but very tasty! Very relaxed, friendly atmosphere that instantly made me feel at home. We visited twice!

We visited Fusion for dinner whilst staying in Lipari. The location, in Lipariâs central port, does shout âtourist trap!â, but - as the rating on here suggests - the food and overall experience here are a lot better than that. We visited twice and the standout dishes we had were the swordfish and pistachio spaghetti (trust me it works), the spaghetti with clams and the mixed grilled fish (the grilled tuna especially was wonderful). Wine was also very nice and reasonably priced - even the house white was very good. The service is friendly and well paced, and both nights we were there the staff did really well to move diners out of the extremely intense rain storm that came about very quickly! Prices are fairly average for what we saw whilst around the Eoilan Islands but the pasta dishes especially are good value (13-15 Euro) and we certainly felt we got a lot of good food for the price we paid. Seating is mostly outside which is great for the summer months and the atmosphere in the port has a nice buzz without being too busy (although we were not there at absolute peak season). This was a step above the other places we ate in a Lipari and one of the best places we ate at in the islands as a whole.

My girlfriend and I decided to go there after our hotel's receptionist advise. Best advise ever: the restaurant has a beautiful back yard where you can enjoy a Sicilian dinner under flowered arch and good smelling plants. Seafood was fresh and the cuisine combines innovation and tradition with high quality standard. Thanks

After visiting Filipino restaurant in Lipari which I was not really impressed we have been advised to visit Villa Liberty. It was a nice surprise in terms of location as well as food. Very friendly staff, good quality fish, and really good dishes. Choice of dishes is not enormous, but they are done very well. Good choice of wines as well. I would recommend it over other proclaimed places in Lipari.

Breathtaking views. Lovely terrace. Extremely accomplished bartender. I was just going to have a glass of wine as cocktails are not my thing, but the bartender very kindly suggested I try his wild fennel, local lemon and ginger with vodka concoction. Delicious and refreshing. My only complaint is the music is extremely loud.I did not eat at restaurant.
