Cracking wee free house bar on Leith's waterfront. Fires on in winter in the bar with mugs of haggis stovies and hot toddies. In summer sit outside on the water with a seafood platter or fish and chips. 20 ales and craft beers on tap. 20 Wines and bubblie
We had tried a few weeks ago to eat here, the queues drove us away. What a system! We went again tonight, struck lucky with a rare table becoming free as we went in. It was noisy with lots of people straight from work just having a few drinks. Food offered a decent portion and we enjoyed it. Would be good if they could make it more like a night out rather then a queueing marathon. For example they had one machine for anyone using a debit card, not good enough for a busy pub

Popped in on the off chance of breakfast before driving home. It is a splendid place for a weekend brunch. The food was delicious (I had Eggs Nobles which is eggs Benedict with black pudding). The coffee was rich and the surroundings were charming. If you are in the Leith area then I would definitely recommend it. If you are not it's worth a drive from Edinburgh.

Situated on the Leith waterfront, The Shore is the ideal destination for those wishing to spend an evening in Edinburghs historic port. Boats line the harbourside where the sun sets slowly on hot summer nights, making The Shore a quiet and idyllic loca
Had an evening in one of the booths in the bar area. An enjoyable evening meeting new folks sat in next booth who were great fun. Food was excellent. Service: drinks taken away before finishing on 2 occasions - the waiter was morose and without social skills and one waitress who is usually engaging was switched off. There was a member of staff who was very Emily and engaging however there was a subdued atmosphere within the regulars. Quite expensive for 2 people so expect excellent engaging service. Bar Staff OK however not one for the chat. Overall due to food and company, a great night.

A dinner to remember. The staff go out of their way to accommodate you and make you feel welcome. Our table orderes the seafood linguine and the seafood platter. Such generous portions, and the seafood platter is an absolute show stopper. Would go back in a heartbeat.

We ate here with friends as part of a birthday celebration. The seafood and fish were great - good size portions and fresh local ingredients. Great range of wines too. Service was excellent too.

We enjoyed our third visit to the Lighthouse today and was delighted with the friendly welcome, wonderful food, fresh from the fishermanâs trawler and nice ambiance. This is a lovely little restaurant overlooking Newhaven Harbour which never disappoints. Iâve tried a few different fish dishes now, everyone fantastic but they also have a meat and a vegetarian option too which weâre all well received. Word of warning though, do book in advance to ensure a table. Weâve heard a few disappointed travellers be turned away

Booked a special meal for dadâs birthday; shellfish platter for 4. The starter was like a main course; all cooked to perfection with lots of scallops, clams, mussels, oysters prawns and longustines carefully sliced down the centre of the tail to remove the black vein. Oh and 4 tiny bowls of Devine scallop roe bisque.Main course had half lobsters, their bodies stuffed with dressed crab, moe prawns & mussels.Loved every bit of it and look forward to returning.

We had a family lunch and had a good time. The menu selection was varied allowing for typical staples such as sandwiches, soup, baked potatoes and toasties as well as burgers and fish. The food is delicious and you can tell itâs all freshly made. We had the tomato, red pepper and chilli soup and would highly recommend.Portion sizes are hearty, price is reasonable and service is prompt and friendly. The views are lovely and calming.Highly recommend. It might be an idea to book during busy seasons. We didnât and got a table but a couple of people were turned and had to come back.
