The raw oysters were excellent, and also the combination fish plates. My husband and I shared one, as did our friends, and it was just perfect. It didn't hurt that the Cowboy game was on the TV's, and the atmosphere was exciting! We were not rushed at all which made for a very pleasant evening. Thank you.
This place used to look (from the outside - I'd never been in before) like a seedy local bar. Recent new owners seem to be working to transform the place to a bit more upscale and fun "watering hole and eatery" and from all appearances are succeeding. On recent "Fat Tuesday" they served really New Orleans style specials - etoufee, gumbo, Po' boy sandwiches, oysters, red beans & rice... you get the picture. Drinks - what you'd expect. Bright and cheery ambiance, juke box music. I'm impressed and will definitely be back. A very good addition to usual fare (chain restaurants and fast food) available in Kerrville. Decent parking in a lot and street.

Stopped in for dinner with no reservation - told to choose a table and then we sat and waited. Finally were asked for our drink order which came quite quickly. She then took our order and was very friendly. I ordered salad, shrimp, and onion rings - received french fries instead of onion rings - when I brought it to her attention, she went and ordered my onion rings. Others ordered oyster platter and seafood platter - seafood platter had catfish, oysters, and shrimp - all were good. Oyster platter had a couple oysters that were chewy and not good tasting. Salads were limp (setting too long) -

My husband and I have been eating here for years. I'm not sure how I have failed to review this restaurant. Service is always quick and friendly and food is always excellent. I highly recommend the fried seafood platter with boiled shrimp, catfish, fried shrimp, fried oysters (in season). In my opinion they have the best fried shrimp and fried oysters around. Also try the seafood gumbo (it comes with the seafood platter) it is excellent.

The Ridge Marketplace's Cafe at The Ridge is a place to gather, not just around a plate of great food, but around each other. The Ridge Marketplace offers a place to share stories over a glass of sweet tea and a chicken fried steak. All of our delicious f
This place is located out from most everything but easy to find.I was pleasantly surprised at the uniqueness of the venue. There is a restaurant, bakery, gift shop, garden/nursery, outdoor seating in nice settings, and they host many events for the small local communities. We drove out to go to a free event for kids and were glad we did.The restaurant parking is not large but people also parked on the road. The nursery area is well laid out with very healthy variety of plants at reasonable prices. The gift shop had lots of nice items in different price ranges including a table with 75% off items. All of the areas were very clean and inviting and the staff was very nice. The restaurant was packed this day so the wait was long to be seated and to get your food.We ordered our food to go so we could eat outside at any of the many tables they had (some in shade and some not). But we had to wait in line just to put in a to-go order. Then it was another 30 min. wait for the food. The menu has a good selection of food with sides being extra on some items. We were not as impressed with the food for the price as we were with the rest of the venue. Our order consisted of Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich w/fries ($11), 3 Fish Tacos ($12), and Loaded Quesadilla ($11). The lettuce on the club was wilted and the fries were soggy, fish tacos were mediocre and the loaded quesadilla was tasty but tortillas not completely filled. We sat outside in the garden/nursery area and immediately were annoyed by bees wanting a taste of our food. They were bothering most people who were eating in that area.Maybe since the were so busy the food prep suffered a bit but the staff was trying to handle the crowd as efficiently as they could. If we were every in this area again we might give them another try and hopefully they would be less busy. This is a nice asset to the communities around as it offers several things at one place and seems to like to involve the locals. They do serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. My rating is more for the overall experience than the food.L H,Thank you for your TripAdvisor review and for coming in during our Fall Festival on Saturday. We did have a huge turnout for the event (grateful to the community for their support!). We aren't usually as busy as we were on Saturday, so we do hope you will come back in and give us another try. Wednesday nights are Steak Night, and on Fridays, it's all day Catfish Fridays! We hope you'll come back in soon so we can serve you well.
