Southwest of Seville, Jerez is a well-heeled place. It’s the home of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art and its famous dancing horses; if you’re on a budget or can’t be there for a formal performance, it’s worth dropping in to catch a morning training session. The other major reason to visit Jerez is to sample its most famous product—sherry. You can do this at a number of bodegas associated with the world’s best-known brands, including Bodegas Tio Pepe, The House of Sandeman, Jerez, and Pedro Domecq. They’ll soon have you knowing your amontillado from your oloroso. There’s also an Alcázar, dating back to the time of the Almohads, which features a small mosque, now the chapel of Santa María Real.

Went here because it was convenient to our hotel. Tapas were great variety and more inventive than usual tapas, with a few daily specials. Menu only in Spainish but waiter helped us out. I really wanted a salad but none on menu. Waiter was nice enough to request one from kitchen, and received best tomato salad with balsamic, pesto and sea salt. Awesome food and service for a good price.

Delicious Octopus, highest quality. In addition to an excellent selection of meats and an extensive TAPAS menu to taste.
Beside being impressed with the quality of the pulpo, what I find extremely good is the open kitchen inside. An open kitchen is a good sign when it comes to the quality of the food since you can see how clean it is (the kitchen) and who and how manages your food.IHMO this is a top place.

Taberna Jerez, located in the heart of Jerez, in Plaza del Arenal. The interior of Taberna Jerez simulates a Patio of a Jerez Bodega with grape leaves in the roof and bunches of grapes as lights. Decorated with old wine labels on one of its walls, at the
This restaurant sits in a corner of the Plaza Arenal and is very handy if youâre visiting the Alcazar or cathedral. Only Spaniards were eating there which is what appealed to us. We had some wine and tapas. The chicken was succulent and the fish cakes were very good. Service was quick. Not sure if itâs a draughty corner or if the wind was just getting up but it was pleasant to sit there and watch the world go by anyway.Thank you very much for the comment. In the Arenal square, it usually runs air as it is an open square. Our customers are varied, both here and tourists. Everyone is welcome!! Until next time

I am very glad we escaped from the hotel and stumbled across this little restaurant just 200 metres away. I had dorada a la plancha and my partner had entrecote steak; both were cooked to perfection and were reasonably priced. The service was friendly and efficient, and the room, although nearly full, was surprisingly quiet for a Spanish restaurant at midday! Recommended.

We stayed at the nearby hotel Sherry Park, and came across the restaurant La Tasca when browsing for restaurants in the vicinity. The restaurant welcomed us with a nice glass of cool sherry and proved to be a really nice place, despite its location outside of Jerezâs centre. The food was wonderful, and we had some really nice starters as well as very nice grilled dorado as our main course.

Most quality restaurants are closed in Jerez on Modays but I discovered this excellent venue. I had very enjoyable evening with excellent service and equally excellent food. Staff were very attentive and helpful and I started my meal with a dressed potatoe salad with Tuna, which was delicious. Often starters are rather bland but not this - very tasty yet subtle. For my second course I chose the grilled Octopus with potatoes and vegetables and it was superbly cooked - melted in the mouth not like chewing rubber Bands! I would certainly recommend this restaurant - and very reasonably priced.
