Ivrea (Italian pronunciation: [iˈvrɛːa]; French: Ivrée, Latin: Eporedia) is a town and comune of the Metropolitan City of Turin in the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy. Situated on the road leading to the Aosta Valley (part of the medieval Via Francigena), it straddles the Dora Baltea and is regarded as the centre of the Canavese area. Ivrea lies in a basin that in prehistoric times formed a large lake. Today five smaller lakes — Sirio, San Michele, Pistono, Nero and Campagna — are found in the area around the town.

Have eaten here before on a previous trip through Italy. We planned our stop in Ivrea to visit Vecchia Posta for dinner. It's a small, family owned and run restaurant that does great pizzas. The external looks none too inviting and the entrance looks like a takeaway, but inside, the restaurant is fine. Freshly cooked food, served quickly in a friendly manner and good prices. Only problem is they don;t seem to take bookings and it is popular with the locals, so you need to get there around 7:30.

We are loyal clients of Patricia and Luciano since they opened in Strambinello. The new locale is beautiful, modern yet because of the owners' hospitality is as warm and welcoming as ever. My husband is a fish lover and so enjoys Luciano's creativity and vast fish menu. As for me, I have fish allergies so Luciano always prepares special dishes. His bagna cauda is the best I have ever had!As we said at the end of our evening, Luciano always was a super chef, but now, in this new locale, we believe he is outdoing himself. Congratulations to both of you for starting a new. If you're planning to trip in Piemont and your route will go near Ivrea, make a stop to eat a delicious pizza and drink a local beer in this pizzeria. You wont regret it !If you go on weekend it's better to reserve a table.

Iâve been to this restaurant a few times while visiting family and friends. I cannot reccomend this establishment highly enough. Aside from the amazing food, the staff is exactly what you expect in Italy; friendly, homely and always welcoming. The food: ample choice, Iâve sampled most of the menu ;) Absolutely never disappointed, fantastic... always!!!!The wine: great local choice, I love that this restaurant is supporting the local wineries.The ambience: classic Italian, welcoming is an understatement. Conclusion: just make the trip, youâll be returning for every meal of the day.Absolutely fantastic !!!!P.s. I am Italian/English/Australian.

We are regulars at Castello di Pavone. Its one of the oldest castle-hotels in Europe and the food and service is friendly and very good. Food keeps getting better each time, you can tell these guys continue to try hard. Ask for one of the rooms in the old section or the tower, they are awesome!

Busy place on a Thursday evening late February. The pizza with Boletus mushroom was very good, and the serivce was also good. But.... drum roll.... "Tarta chocolata" (spelling??) which looked like a lonely slice of dry cake was out of this world. Order some Limincello with it and a coffee and you will be in heaven. Four pizzas, wine and two desserts came to â¬54.

Uao!!! I really mean, it Uao. An excellent place you really need to visit if you pass by Ivrea or maybe during carnival. The"insalata di polipo" was just exceptional, so perfectly cooked, tender, soave, soft and tasty really a good job, the calamari ripieni in a tomato sauce ( like a zuppa di pesce)...was just another hit of a spectacular dish. I mean even the cherry tomatoes they were par of the harmony (no hard skin). Crostini, are simply croutons but well balance on salt and herbs and they are not easy to perfection. small Restaurant but nice even if all dishes we ordered were to go. Excellent chef you can tell he works with passion and knowledge. Bravo, Bravissimo.

I come here very often and i have to say that i find myself very satisfied.The food quality is quite good,everything that i eaten here was great.The staff is nice and the service is very fast.The prices are surprisingly small and the restaurant is large and well taken care off.The only bad thing is that sometimes they tend to bring all the dishes together so they could get cold in the meantime.Overall it is a great place to eat.Oh...and another great thing:the floor is an aquarium.

been with a friend to try their set menu........the 25 euro ones where you can get a selection of 6 appetizer (cold and warm) excellent the baccala cream...then we got a seabass each.....maybe they should be more flexible with the options and the selections in the set menus.....
