Forget knives and forks, plates and cloth napkins. This restaurant serves its seafood in a plastic bag. Request your item(s), request your flavor, request your spice. Sit back and wait. Its in an Asian shopping center and there was a wait, but worth the wait. Nothing fancy here.I think they served wine and beer, but not sure. Waitress was friendly too.

Our family been frequenting this restaurant since 2013 and we always have great dining experience here. The authentic Japanese food here is comprehensive in addition to other Asian specialties. Sushi, Sashimi, Makizushi, Yakiniku, Yakitori, Temporas, Sukiyaki, Udon, Ramen, Soba, Miso soup, and about a 100 types of food including salads, fruits, and deserts. There is also a sushi bar where they will make sushi rolls to order as you desire. Protein varieties in the hot stations including beef, pork, chicken, fish, shellfish, crustaceans, and Tofu (for the vegetarians out there). All the food is fresh and cooked/prepared to perfection. The prices are very reasonable and actually the best value in Orange County for a restaurant/buffet due the high quality and the expert preparation of this food. The buffet food is replenished generously and continuously. The service is very friendly and efficient throughout and we highly recommend this place.

Last night at Playground 2.0 was one incredibly exciting food and wine pairing adventure! Master Chef Jason Quinn is a creative genius. Such fresh, beautiful, some exotic, carefully selected vegetables, expressed as vegetables, nothing hidden, prepared with more of the freshest, most delightful ingredients that make me feel with each bite, like Iâm in heaven - no kidding! Each of the 12-14 dishes had such a variety of taste, texture, heat, salt, acid, sweet, spice, umami, crunch, and smoothness. A totally heavenly experience from beginning to end!

We had just moved to Irvine from Huntington Beach and fancied a good Chinese meal. We particularly like Singapore Noodles (curry flavored) and Capital Seafood had them on the menu.We arrived a little early for our reservation, and were taken to a very comfortable booth. The room is large, but very tastefully decorated. Service was way above normal - constant attention without being oppressive from several members of the staff. There is an excellent, comprehensive but very easy to read menu, with a wide variety of excellent and tempting dishes. Our food was nicely presented and good. We have had better Singapore noodles but their's were good. Pricing was fair value - we had a great dinner and will return.

Taps Fish House and Brewery in Irvine is a great place to gather and enjoy a meal. The restaurant is beautifully laid out and furnished. There is a bar area and several dining areas. Tablecloths and napkins on the dining tables. The price fix meals are a bargain. The food is just delicious. I had the clam chowder, shrimp scampi (with pasta) and creme brûlée, but there are many choices for each course. The full menu also looked wonderful, not just seafood. They specialize in beer, but have a full bar. There were four of us and we all agree the service we got was outstanding. Our server knew the menu so well. She was also a great advisor on their beers and pairings. We will be back for sure.Thank you for the kind review, Lynne. We are honored reading your high praises and are delighted you're a fan of ours. We take pride in all we do here at Taps Fish House and Brewery and appreciate the recognition for the ambiance, food, and service. It truly means a lotâ. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

A once-every-couple-of-years reunion with old friends over dinner at Water Grill. The setting is lovely - a large, covered open air space with multiple bar and seating areas. A bit noisy, but that's normal for the size of hte restaurant.Entrees were black cod kabayaki and softshell crab, along with a couple glasses of Veuve Clicquot and a bottle our friends brought from home (no corkage was a big plus!). Excellent food, great service and the company of old friends. What could be finer?

This restaurant is a rare combination of a steakhouse serving prime meat with an excellent variety of seafood options, particularly fish. Really liked the atmosphere. It had a nice vibe to it. Soft shell crab was in season so I started with that. It was delicious! Nice size crab and perfectly prepared. My wife started with the burrata and heirloom tomato salad. A couple of things were wrong here. The burrata was nothing more than mozzarella called burrata. They showed us the product and it did say burrata but more of the commercial mass produced variety. Authentic burrata is a very fresh cheese with an outer mozzarella layer and a soft gooey interior that doesnât have a long shelf live. The other thing was way too many tomatoes in proportion to the amount of burrata included on the dish. But enough of that. We both ordered steaks and they were delicious! Perfectly cooked with excellent flavor! I had a 22 oz rib eye and my wife a 12 oz filet. We sampled each otherâs and both of us really enjoyed each. Btw, the bread served was very fresh, warm and flavorful. Service was attentive, friendly and on point. No room for dessert. We had a wonderful evening and definitely will be back, we just wonât order the burrata salad next time. They did comp us on the salad which we really appreciated. Next time will try a fresh fish!
