Reviews on Seafood food in Hollis, New York, United States. Hollis is a residential middle-class neighborhood within the southeastern section of the New York City borough of Queens. While a predominantly African-American community, there are small minorities of Hispanics and Indians residing in the area. Boundaries are considered to be the Atlantic Branch of the Long Island Rail Road to the west, Hillside Avenue to the north, Francis Lewis Boulevard to the east (although parts of Queens Village are addressed as Hollis on water bills), and Murdock Avenue to the south. Much of this area is considered to be within the St. Albans postal district. Hollis is close to Jamaica and Queens Village. The neighborhood is part of Queens Community Board 12. Hollis is patrolled by the NYPD's 113th Precinct. Public schools in the area are operated by the New York City Department of Education.
"Boulevard" Fish and Chips has been in business in St. Albans, Jamaica, Queens NY for over 35 years. Rated "A" by the NYCDOH. The perfect place for cat fish, whiting, clams or shrimp. Dinner or sandwiches available. The (BBQ- Roasted or Jerk) 1/2 chicken or fried chicken wings and spare ribs are deliciously worth the trip, and short wait. The macaroni and cheese, string beans/with seasoned potato, collard greens, yams and potato salad are all my favorite sides. ** Primarily a take-out restaurant. Enjoy!!

We came for a family celebration. This is certainly our favorite Greek restaurant and possibly our favorite family restaurant. We have been coming here since Farias opened. Our little kids love the octopus grilled. We enjoyed for appetizer A delicious summer salad with water billing. We also had fried calamari, so I cannot do,. For entrées several of us had swordfish steak, lamb chops, branzino, and stuff flounder. Everything was fabulous. The house was great as was the Greek beer and a delicious coffee frappe. We were very fortunate to see Maria, the owner and famous chef from the TV show âChoppedâ. She received a big award the same day for being an outstanding immigrant business woman in Queens County. Maria is just great. This is a lovely family-owned restaurant with fabulous food. We recommend reservations.

This restaurant has some standout dishes on it's fish menu. One we loved is the branzino grilled butterfly style. It comes with vegetable and rice as sides. Their chopped Israeli salad and green salad with feta is also very good. Definitely recommend it for fish lovers when in Queens.

We usually order the ravioli. Cheese is our favorite. Portions are wonderful tasting and very filling. Salads are fresh and crispy and nice sized. Dressings are fresh tasting. Homemade bread is hearty and delicious. Staff is most friendly and attentive. Prices are very good. Going to try their cauliflower crust pizza next time. This place is so clean and kept one would think it is brand new but it is a well established place. When he can, the chef comes out front and checks on every table. Casual dress. This is a 5 STAR Restaurant

Our first visit to this restaurant. PROS: Excellent paella; very good filet mignon; tasty sangria; good ambiance and clean environment; pleasant (if a tad slow) staff.CONS; Terrible fried calamari. Not a safe looking neighborhood (wouldn't want to walk it a night). Will try it again for another lunch.

Mediterranean/Continental/Restaurant
This visit to Crabtrees was our first since it opened. Mediterranean/American style is not my first choice for eating out. But to make the wife happy and our friend happy since it was her birthday and our 50th anniversary. The service is excellent with water being repeatedly refilled and the crumbs removed very quickly. The 1st thing that annoyed me was this pesky fly throughout the whole time we were at the table. No one is going take swats during a meal so I have no solution. The front door is constantly being opened. My 2nd problem (and I know it is my fault), was the vegetables. Each dish comes with mashed potato and a mix of vegetables like yellow and green zucchini, stringbeans, and pieces of broccoli(ugh) and some slices of beets (ugh 2).For starters our friend had the buratta salad and i shared the escargot with wifey. That came in the full shell on a plate of garlic sauce which is what makes this dish so good. For main course our friend had the darla's chicken, wife had the salmon and I had the porterhouse style 16 ounce pork chop. The chop was huge and covered with sauteed peppers and onions. The chop was very good but I probably would have been happier had I stuck with my first thought of getting 2 appetizers and a salad. I studied the menu and really wanted the calamari plate and the escargot with a salad.Appetizers and salads run from $11-15 while most main dishes run in the teens to 30+.When we arrived the place was not too filled but when we left on a Sunday nite , it was packed. If you are still hungry for dessert, get the gelato.
