This was the first Captain D's location I encountered in my travels in quite some time. They are not as ubiquitous as McDonald's, but they do offer tasty fast seafood dishes. This Captain D's is located on Main St. in Grandview, just east of I-49, which used to be the US 71 Freeway. The Grandview area seems to be the best place to stop for a bite to eat on the south side of Kansas City, MO, unless you are willing to make a big detour to the west to Lenexa, Olathe, and Overland Park, Kansas. I tried their new parmesan baked fish meal, and it wasn't bad.

You list the other Bristol's in Kansas City, but not the one in Leawood,KS
We hadn't been here in quite a while, so we decided to get together there with family for a nice dinner. We were surprised at how much the prices had increased since our last visit. Some thing remained a good value (whole Maine lobster $35), but many entrees are now overpriced for what you get. Creole gumbo still wonderful, and fairly priced. It seemed like most things were $35 and up, with many in the high $40s. Other places provide similar quality for less money. Upcharges for some dishes, no baked potatoes (really?!), many side dishes very pedestrian (haricot verts, potato wedges). Wine by the glass prices were reasonable.

First time here in several months. Food good, service very nice but average overall, waiter disappeared at times, and forgot two things. Filet, ordered medium, was well done. Could not send back timely as waiter did not come by table for 15 min after someone else had brought food. Apple-carmel dessert was outstanding. Bread good, green beans very good. Classy place, always busy.

As seafood lovers, we decided to try "Jarocho Authentic Mexican Seafood" after reading other local reviews about their original location. Our first impression of the restaurant was comfortable and casual, almost a carry-out atmosphere. Yet the wait staff was as formal and professional as any upscale place would be. AWESOME surprise! The first words out of our waiter's mouth were "welcome; is this your first time? we use gluten-free breading on all of our sauteed items". AWESOME surprise! He read our minds, we didn't have to ask first. On to the menu. Fresh fish choices, generous portions, and so flavorful. I had the Risotto in Lobster Cream Sauce with Calamari bits that was prepared and served in a 10-inch skillet filled to the top! Adorning the Risotto were 2 whole shrimp, 8 in-shell mussels, and 2 oysters on the half shell. Needless to say, I ate the fish and took most of the Risotto home for 2 more meals. You have a complete view of the kitchen and chefs and the utensils your meal will be cooked/served in. The prices are very competitive, especially considering how much I had left over. Without a doubt, "We'll be back"
This seafood is so fresh that if you get stopped they will ask for your Alabama Salt Water License.Seriously this shrimp and red snapper smells like you just pulled it in. Best I have ever purchased in the KC.Bubba sells at the city market and other locations. Check his website.
