First visit since 2015 and during our absence chef Odero has been working a while at the castle of Guarene. Now back and ambitious as always. Food is firmly based on Piedmont traditions but inspired by France and Guide Michelin fans. The amuse and coffee sweets are among the best around, love them! Foi gras in various versions was super, as was the lamb. It is too easy to overeat though...

And that's not in the order that everyone prefers, but they do all of them exceptionally well. The summer months afford the luxury of the terrace seating and views at sunset. The stomach desires pizzas, and theirs are wood fired, generously appointed with whatever you crave (even chips and wurst if you so desire). The impressive beer list would make you think it'd be full of rowdy yobs, but this place is classy. They have a section for the kids to play in, and the staff are prompt and knowledgeable about the menu (and mostly speak English too!)Book your table if you are planning a dinner in the busy season; although 6 of us turned up and they found us the last table on the vast terrace.

We had a delightful meal at Wine Story. Itâs truffle season and, having tasted them earlier in the week, at a modest little lunch spot, at a modest price, we were very keen to sample some more. This time the waiter brought a basket of deliciously stinky white truffles to choose from. Our chosen truffle was weighed, and a price per gramme quoted. Did we work it out? No. Truffle was ceremoniously grated over all our food. Delicious! When the bill came, the price for the truffle, scribbled in pencil on a piece of paper, came to 95 euros. Dearie me. At first we thought weâd been taken for a ride. But other guests at our B&B told of a 195 euro truffle, seen at a local restaurant earlier in the week. Truffles are apparently like diamonds - the bigger ones command higher prices! An experience and a half . But one that will break the bank if repeated soon. Service was excellent and the restaurant went to some trouble to accommodate dietary requirements.

La Trattoria degli Amici is located in the heart of the Langhe. Our Restaurant serves fresh seafood and dishes of Piemontese tradition. The philosophy our Chef Patron of Trattoria search all products km "0" with respect to the vegetables and the meat of w
This restaurant is pretty small in size but it is worth visiting. The service was very friendly. We got appetizers on the house. All the dishes were well prepared and very tasty. Wines were very affordable and of decent quality. Good value for the money you spend here!

We had some great meals during our long weekend in the Piedmont region but our meal at this Sardinian seafood restaurant was our favourite. Itâs an unassuming building on a quiet, dark road. Youâre greeted at the door with a friendly handshake and a smile. The space inside is comfortable and intimate with only 4 tables. After you sit down youâre immediately given a welcoming glass of champagne and a second glass filled with cubes of champagne jelly. This is followed by a very good amuse-bouche and a big plate of Sardinian flatbread. We had 4 courses and the food was simply outstanding. The raw fish first course was incredible and the second course of gnocchi filled with sea bream and covered with crab sauce was amazing. My main course was âdry fish soupâ and it was also excellent. Desserts were delicious, especially the semifreddo. The portions were very generous, and in fact we were so full by the end of the meal we couldnât finish the nice petits fours. Finally, as we were leaving they presented us with a gift-wrapped box of cookies that we enjoyed the next day. Service at this restaurant was perfect. Very friendly, professional and efficient. Everyone spoke very good English and they really made us feel welcome. The food presentation was also fantastic. I donât usually take photos of my food but this time I couldnât resist.

My husband and I spend a month in the Cuneo region of Piedmont each year. We make it a point to have lunch several times each trip at Peperone Rosso because we love their pizza. Many Italian pizzerias do not serve pizza at lunch but at Peperone Rosso there is "pizza a pranzo" every day. In addition to a large selections of pizzas, there are many other dishes on the menu plus daily specials. The daily specials are written on a chalk board. Our Italian friends had a fish soup which they said was excellent. In fact, after we introduced them to Peperone Rosso, they returned again on their own. The restaurant is very casual and it is clearly a neighborhood restaurant. It is popular with the locals which is always a sign of a good restaurant in Italy. Peperone Rosso is run by a married couple. The husband cooks and the wife is in the dining room. They are both very friendly and will cheerfully accommodate a request to add or remove ingredients in a dish if it is at all possible. We communicate in my limited Italian and I do not think much, if any English, is spoken by the owners. However, on our most recent visit, the wife proudly showed us a new menu with English translations. Peperone Rosso is a simple, family-owned restaurant serving good quality food and excellent pizza at reasonable prices. In nice weather, there are a few tables set up for dining on the sidewalk out front. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and my husband and I felt at home on our very first visit. Now we always look forward to our next "pizza a pranzo" at Peperone Rosso.

We visited this pizzeria just because it was the only place in the area that still had free tables for lunch and we were not dissapointed!!! The pizza was enormous and VERY TASTY! Well organised place, nice staff and lovely view on the surrounding hills.

This restaurant was chosen based on the recommendation of the owner at the Inn in which we were staying. My husband and I couldn't have chosen a more perfect location to celebrate my birthday. The service was attentive without being pretentious and the ambience had a modern vibe to it. But the food is the real star, deliciously prepared and artistically presented. We were allowed to observe the chefs put the finishing touches on our dinner. This was done through three large round windows separating the dining room from the kitchen. The vegetable platter done three ways was a portrait on a plate and the foie gras appetizer were two of our favorites. But the real eye candy came at the end of the meal when we were served a Black Cherry dessert with a taste to match the look! Our server also helped us select a wine the paired well with our dinner as we were not familiar with many of the local wineries.

I got the impression that this restaurant has high ambitions and to serve really nice gourmet food. I do not think they meet this level. The best I had was the grilled meat, the rest was unfortunately a disappointment.
