Sea Empress Seafood Restaurant

My Aunt and her family treated me to a very tasty and satisfying lunch at Sea Empress. We enjoyed both the steamed and baked BBQ Pork Buns, fried Taro Dumplings, Pork Shiu Mai, Shrimp Har Gow, etc. The large restaurant was very busy on a Tuesday with a large number of Chinese speaking guests dining there - good indication that this restaurant serves high quality, authentic dim sum..

El Rocoto

I would give it a 3 1/2 star since I think I had better Peruvian food in LB and other areas. The place is super clean and the service is very good. I had mariscos salteado. My friend had aji de gallina and my other two friends had a salad and some sort of potatoes with sauce on top. I think this place is better than the Rocoto in Cerritos though. Most meals are over $15. I wish they would add more hot spices to their food. All in all, a good place to eat.

Went there for a business lunch and was pleasantly surprised. It's a coffee shop, but It looks like a really nice upscale restaurant. Greeted by a friendly staff and seated immediately. Waiter immediately asked us for drinks and told us about specials and available soups. Menu has enough variety for anyone's taste. Ordered a soup and sandwich. It was delivered quickly. Sandwich was very good but soup wasn't very good. An excellent place for a business meeting . A little pricey for lunch, but worth it.

Crab Shack

The food is very fresh and I appreciated that they tell you what is fresh and what is frozen. Prices are reasonable and flavor excellent. I loved the oysters and snow crab!! The service is fast and friendly.I’d have given them a 5-star review but there were some things I think they can improve: 1. They served their beer in plastic cups – come on guys, the last time I drank beer from plastic was back in college – beer tastes best in glass and plastic leaches chemicals into the brew. The same for their food. It is really tasty but it comes served up in a large clear plastic bag. Makes me feel like they are bringing out the trash. I have been to other Cajun-style crab restaurants where they serve the food out in little kettles that look like lobster pots or cute black metal seafood bowls – this would be a major step up in presentation and we wouldn’t end up with so much plastic in our oceans and landfills after the meal. Think reusable!2. Other than corn on the cob there were no veggies on the menu. Not even a salad option. Now I know this is a seafood place – but I’d like to see a house salad or steamed asparagus or broccoli or even coleslaw. Nothing fancy, just something to balance the meal.3. Their seafood must be ordered by the pound. It would have been nice to be able to order by the half pound to make a more interesting assortment, especially with some of the more expensive offerings. Perhaps they can have a two pound minimum and then offer half pounds on anything over that?Still, minor suggestions aside, this is definitely a place I’ll be going back to and one I would highly recommend if you love fresh seafood!!
