Only weekend friday and saturday the restaurant is open at the dinerand the chef offer a special menu of fish at 25 euro with beverage and coffee
Located in an unassuming building off the main road through Omegna, the Vaporiera (âsteam engineâ) is something like the grail of Italian eateries: a genuine family-style osteria where the locals stop in for a simple down-home meal. The place is small, and was very busy at lunch, so be prepared to wait a bit for a table. There are no written menus, so the waitress will recite for you what theyâre cooking that day. When we visited, it was a choice between gnocchi in a white onion sauce or maccheroni in a tomato sauce as primo, and a breaded chicken cutlet or roasted rabbit as secondo. All the choices were delicious, and the portions of the primi in particular were huge. The prices are better than just reasonable: two and a half menùs (three primi and two secondi, sides included) with water, three coffees and a glass of wine came to EUR 35. Highly recommended -- assuming you can even find it, since itâs not well signposted. (N.B. -- The crew donât seem to speak English, so some basic Italian skills would be useful. That, or you can just trust them and order the menù â whatever arrives is sure to be tasty.)

The food was good, nothing outstanding and reasonable prices. Good wine list and not expensive. Beers were okay priced also.We had lunch there. Good value compared to in town

This restaurant is on top of a shopping center called Conad. The building looks good, the shops are a bit shabby as the construction was completed when the recession fell. On the second floor with a large bay window there is a restaurant that has a good view over the lake. The food is good and particularly the buffet that they serve for lunch is excellent value. Paella is very good or any rice dishes. As they have a lot of space, there is a risk that you end up eating with big groups of people which happened to us a couple of times. Then obviously the service for a couple is not so good. They are very good with children too, and as there is space, children could be noisy without anyone paying much attention.

The waitress asked us to wait while a couple at a table overlooking the water had finished. It was worth the wait. The ravioli was the best I have ever tasted. The local wine was excellent and cheap. It turned colder later and the same waitress ushered us inside and served us a complimentary liqueur. A wonderful evening in a beautiful village.

We found this true gem by mere chance driving by on our way back to Milan from Gravellona Toce. You can eat inside or (if spring, summer or early autumn) outside. You don't get a menu although there is a chalk written blackboard you can refer to inside. The server will tell you what is available and what it is made of.They asked if anyone had celiac or allergy issues which doesn't happen every day.The food was great. Well prepared, excellent presentation neither too much nor too little. Starters, second course, desert were outstanding. As I was driving I had to limit my self to half a glass of wine. That little I had was as good as the meal. We'd go there more often if it was closer.

Had a lovely dinner here last week. The food was excellent and I do recommend that you leave enough room for a dessert - the millefeuille was the best! Good, friendly, professional service and a lovely location on the lake. I hope to return one day.

We came here for dinner because we read the menu out front, and the food was even better than it sounded. We started with the Antipasto di mare della Pagul, and it was all incredibly delicious... but the way the local trout was prepared made it unforgettable. My wife had the Spaghettini all' astice (incredibly delicious) and I had the Costata di Angus alla sau (wonderfully prepared), so we had a dilemma on which wine to choose. The owner, an extremely friendly and wonderful person, recommended a Lacrima Di Morro D'Alba as a neutral way out of our predicament, and she was absolutely right! We can't wait to go back to Mergozzo, and this will definitely be a regular place to eat each time we do.

Restaurant in a boat of the year 50' furnished in modern style with dishes of local fish cuisine and Ossola valley.
We stopped for a late dinner at the "Il Battello del Golfo" restaurant which is a housed in a old lake boat moored before the city of Baveno on Lake Maggiore. The tables are spacious, the tableware and glasses very elegant, the service attentive. The menu is traditional italian. As a starter we both ordered raw jumbo shrips with fried leeks, truly spectacular. As a main course I had an excellent tuna steak with a vegetable ratatouille, and my wife ordered cod with red onions and polenta, which I tasted and found also very good. The wine list provides a more than adequate choice, and the prices are quite reasonable. In summary, a romantic restaurnat in an unusual setting with excellent food.

Great food, a fantastic view of the lake, fast service and a great ambiance! Luca, the owner, treats every guest as if he knows them for years and makes sure everyone feels right a home. Definently the best restaurant you can find in feriolo!

What a magical setting looking straight down on the swans paddling Lake Maggiore, and the local church tower of the village of Feriolo di Baveno. Seafood Ravioli, Cesar salad with chicken were delicious. We purposely saved room for dessert, a bigne (cream puff) topped with blackberry coulis, and a fine tiramisu. Prices were very reasonable (4 Euros for glass o house wine and our service was very attentive. (Since we )were there early by Italian standards (7:15) on a Tuesday night, there was no wait for a lakefront table. Waiters spoke some English.)
