Discover Restaurants offering the best Seafood food in Faial Island, Azores, Portugal. Faial Island (Portuguese pronunciation: [fɐˈjaɫ]), also known in English as Fayal, is a Portuguese island of the Central Group (Portuguese: Grupo Central) of the Azores. The Capelinhos Volcano, the westernmost point of the island, might as well be the westernmost point of Europe, if the Monchique Islet, near Flores Island, is considered part of North America, for it sits on the North American Plate.

The hotel is in a really great spot overlooking the harbour. Get a room in the right part! It's a wonderful harbour to watch. The restaurant is good for breakfast and dinner. Diana and Nelson who work there are excellent. The reception team are also very helpful. So any downsides? Bar service is a bit haphazard and the outdoor pool is a wee bit limited. Would I visit again? Certainly.

Traditional azorean food, fresh fish and wonderful meet selection and big wine card friendly servers
Went for dinner. Chose the Azorean meat platter starter which was amazing and huge portions. However we took longer than they expected so our fish was slightly over cooked. That said everything was very tasty and weâd definitely go back! Good friendly service

Comfy casual local food on the charming cove of Porto Pim in Horta... terrace over viewing the nice black sandy beach... enjoy it at lunch or sunset on my behalf!

Called in here as part of a tour and there were 28 of us. Already red and white wine together with bottled water on all of the tables. There was also a supply of fresh bread. They brought a supply of chicken, salad,Pork, chips and Olives which was more than enough for each table. They even supplied me with a small beer at no cost.Friendly and efficient service and the cooked food was hot.

Although dinner overall was wonderful, please do not leave this place without trying the octopus appetizer. It is absolutely wonderful. Not only was the food superb but the portions are crazy big. Definitely a must try when in Faial.

It's the usual place were you cook your own meat/fish over a hot stone slab. What's different about this place?! they use local basalt stone...Can't the meat and fish were good quality but I have to question their choice of stone. Yes, they do have A LOT of it laying around, but food get stuck to it easily unlike other stone types. Also, I found it expensive for what it is. And the smell lingering around.... Not a fan (phun intended). If you have never had a meal of this type, then by all means, have a try. If you had it before, I suggest looking for something else. Go to Peters and have a gin :)

We dined here as part of a large group. The menu had already been arranged and included the polvo salad, tuna salad, grilled mackerel and cataplana. The tuna was excellent as was the cataplana which was delicious, especially the broth. After dinner the owner gave a short talk about his two solo sailing trips around the world. It was a great evening.

For both lunch and dinner, my wife and I enjoyed the opportunity to select our catch of the day from the fish displayed on ice in the restaurant. The waiter was quite helpful in explaining the fish. The preparation of the fish was really outstanding and we enjoyed the roasted potatoes and grilled vegetables that came with the fish. Of the fish we enjoyed in the Azores, my wife and I agree that this was one of the top one or two places in terms of selection, preparation and taste. While the restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, the inside is quite comfortable and we enjoyed eating dinner on the patio. If you are in Horta looking for fresh fish, I would definitely recommend eating here.
