Tucked intimately into the Enola hillside, Tavern on the Hill is just 10 minutes across the river from Pennsylvania's Capitol Complex. Warmth emanates from the double glass doors, inviting you inside for a welcoming and intimate experience complete with t
I have always enjoyed my numerous visits to The Tavern. Once again friendly welcome. Seated quickly. Lovely bar staff. My friend ordered the brisket and absolutely loved it. I ordered from the specials board. Hake with pesto potatoes and olives. Unfortunately it wasn't upto scratch. Under seasoned and tastless. However the Manchester tart was lovely. Service excellent. I would go again because I've thus far always had very good food.

This was my first time to this restaurant but not the first time to this chain. Considering the other three I have been to the décor is very similar having a large bar area subtlety separated from a large dining room. The bar had two large TVs on, of which one displayed the food channel, touché! There is a combination of communal and regular high-top tables in there. I preferred a traditional table, so I requested the dining room. What I Liked:- The crusty mini loaf of bread was very good- The corn chowder and lump crab soup was very good and had a little spiciness to it. Note it looks like a large bowl buy is not very deep.- The grilled sea bass was excellent! I got it with the lemon butter sauce. I could eat that eight days a week, lol! The flavor and juiciness were outstanding. What I Did Not Like:- They do not offer a plain shrimp cocktail option- They were out of the Cobia fish with no substitute, so I had to pay an extra $15 for the grilled sea bass- The soup came out very fast, even before my iced tea, and then there was a long wait for the entrée.- For the price point there was very little sea bass. The two pieces on the plate were two inches long and one inch wide with a thickness about one inch.- The sautéed spinach was very watery, and the jasmine rice was average at best. I did not finish either one.My overall rating placed this restaurant at #17 of the 76 restaurants I have eaten at in the area since February 2019.

âHappy Hourâ ? Oysters and beers - not good. Met my friend for happy hour on a Friday 4pm and ordered oysters, beers, and split a ahi tuna appetizer. I have to say that my family over the past few years have tried Rockbass for their pricey seafood dinners and each time we have had a bad experience. - This time just stopped in with a buddy for happy hour and disappointed for sure. 1. Oysters are not all on Happy Hour price only a coupleâ oh and they are like 25¢ off an oyster, not buck a shuck. The oysters were washed and rinsed so they have no brine or oyster taste? Also they are not cut so you have to hack them out with a fork? Horrible. U should give up the oyster idea. 2. Happy hour prices are a joke- my bill was 59$ for 10 oysters, a small appetizer( the tuna was the only good thing) and a couple beers? 3. Our bills were both messed up totally- nothing correct, there were only two of us. The food and menu has been changed adding stax of food to the menu like the other two restaurants- I have been going here since it was the Italian restaurant years ago- lately we always go in expecting something great - and fee ripped off leaving

my wife and I come here for special occasions, which turns out to be about once a month and always a great meal. been going here for decades. she's the crab cake connoisseur in the family and only the progress grill wins out! I love their steaks and crab cakes as well. only minor complaint is for fine dining, the silverware is pretty plain, like diner quality but that's nit picking. also refills are not free which is odd. the prices here are on the higher side, can't afford free refills? this is the only place I know of that can't give you a refill. we eat out every single day of the week and even the places with cheap food don't charge for a refill.Thank you for your continued support! We look forward to serving you again soon!
