Seasonal restaurant specializing in fresh seafood, served on the banks of the historic Union River in Downtown Ellsworth. We pride ourselves on our traditional Downeast fare crafted with care and served with a smile.
We found this place on TripAdvisor. The only thing I can say good about the place is it had a nice view and the service at our table was good. We were beyond disappointed in the food. Worst lobster on our entire vacation (and we ate a lot of lobster). Two of us ordered the lobster and both were way, way over cooked. My spouse ordered fish tacos which was supposed to have Cajun seasoning. The fish was cooked fine but she said she couldnât taste any seasoning and the sauce was not good either in our opinion. What a let down.

This was a nice size restaurant, with lots of parking and it was very clean. Our waitress was very friendly. I ordered popcorn shrimp and my husband ordered haddock. We both enjoyed our meal. They gave you a small loaf of bread with your meal and that was tasty as well. The only problem was that once we had our meal our waitress never came back. She didn't check to see if we needed more water or anything else. We were thinking of dessert, but gave up that idea. I know she was very busy, but we couldn't even find her. FINALLY she came and we got the bill. The young girl at the check out asked how everything was. We told her the food was good, but there was a problem with the wait staff. She didn't say a word, just took our money. Talk about rude! Don't ask how things were if you really don't care. We had planned to go back the next night, but after that we changed our minds.

Pulled in here on a whim as we were more than ready to dig into a lobster roll after arriving from NH and VT. Lobster roll ($14.99) came with 4 oz of fresh meat served in between freshly toasted bread plus a bag of chips. The half-lobster, half-crab roll ($12.99) came with 4 oz as well just split 50-50 between the lobster and crab. Both rolls were made with fresh ingredients and each bite only confirmed so. The clam chowder was great as well and worth picking up a cup when you order a roll or two or three.

Despite all the negative ratings on Trip Advisor, We stopped here for a 2# lobster and fried paddock dinner as we had better here about 3 years ago. Our meals couldn't have been better. The fried haddock, fries, and slaw were perfect. The lobster was cooked just right. Great meal.
I have gone by this place a hundred times as my daughter just moved 6 miles down the same road. Since it is on the way to city hall where she works I decided to stop in the shack. Suprise, really very good. Now the people who work there really, really want to take care of their customers. Dogs and burgers and a lot of other things come out just like they would at their own home. I can not say enough good things about this small place. If I had a place of my own I would like it to be just like this one. Need a fast, small, not expensive meal then stop here and enjoy some really good fast food. Good Job guys.oh yes they have outside tables only .. no inside seating.
