We went here for dinner and got little appetizers first. Really lovely. The food was good too, the platfish in particular. There's not a lot of choice for non-fish eaters, but it's a fish restaurant so that's implied. I also liked that you can take your own towel when you go to the restroom. It's that little extra service. The owner is friendly, very professional (my steak was cold and he immediately returned it to the kitchen) and likes to chat.

only restaurant wit a view on the historic tramway of the beginning of the 20 th century. This cuisine is honnest and without any sophistaced added beautification. Bernard Patrouille is a ease and knows exactly what the customer wants. Great Guy.

Fish and seafood restaurant with tapa bar. Pure & honest product driven kitchen. Healthy local products. Classic recipes & seasonal suggestions. Attentive & quick service. Universal wines & local beers. Optimal price & quality; Cosy inside & sunny terrace
we went to this restaurant based on a recommendation. My wife had fish, which was excellent. I fancied the hamburger on the menu and this was a bad idea. The burger was nearly raw, the bread and the potatoes had a strange taste. I should have informed the waiter who was very friendly, but I didn't... my fault.

Arrived in the middle of a busy lunch service with all the outside tables occupied but the waiter came quickly and brought drinks. There was a large and varied menu but nothing looked "fresh" or original. Opted for croquettes in the end which were "OK" but nothing spectacular. The Casanova works on fast turnover and sticks to well known easy to make quickly dishes and there is nothing wrong with that business approach as they execute it well. But it would have been nice to see something from the sea, given the location.

There is a reason for such good reviews and we experienced and enjoyed it first hand during our dinner. We (2 adults, 2 kids and golden Labrador) had dinner last week and it was absolutely amazing. Whilst adults had steak to share for mains, kids were on BBQ ribs and they havenât stopped talking about it since. The Prawns and steak starters were amazing.Ambience and service was second to none, met the chef as well and always felt the warmth of a family run restaurant. Our dog Mia also left with a meat treat in the end. All in all, 6 stars if we can, for an amazing anniversary evening. thank you very much

Dined at Julia on a Friday evening in January when the restaurant was reasonably full for off-season. The Flemish menu was well-described to us German and English speaking folks. I would describe the meals as "hearty" - certainly more than a couple of retired seniors like us could eat. Service was decent. From appertifs to espressos (yes, they have decaf), we were there about 3 hours. Clearly a great choice if you are hungry!

I've been there for at lest 100 (hundred YES) times and was never disappointed : All fish is really fresh and perfect cooked. Ann & Frank (brother & sister) give you a great welcome an d brother Steve together with his mother are the steady professionals in the kitchen. Heaven on earth. Also one of the few restaurant were the napkins are fine. Honnestly, no competition on 60 km belgian coast.

Wanting to take pictures of the magnificent sunset on Ostendâs waterfront, we diverted from our usual route of turning right onto the promenade and turned left instead, towards the sun. We were looking for somewhere to eat and found this charming little restaurant called Othello. We were given some very tasty tapenade and fresh bread as a taster to begin with, as standard to have with our drinks. Then onto the starter. To say that the scallops I had were the most delicious and tender Iâve ever had would be an understatement. They were utterly superb. We then went onto mussels in white wine for me, and beef for my husband. The mussels were divine, and my husband reports that the meat was really tender and tasty.Dessert was Creme Brûlée for him and ice cream for me. Both absolutely delicious. We would highly recommend this restaurant. It would be advisable to book ahead. We had not booked, and they did accommodate us, but it was full. An absolute gem of a find and we would come again. It is pricey, but we donât mind paying for quality. For drinks and three courses each the bill amounted to about â¬120.00.The service was good too and the owners very attentive. Given that the position of the restaurant is a little bit away from the main thoroughfare, it was full nevertheless, and worthy of walking just that little but further west to find it. There is a step up from the pavement, but if someone were being pushed in a wheelchair I think the wheelchair could be lifted up the step. One couple had a little dog with them who had its own seat. They allow well behaved dogs into restaurants in Belgium. Not sure if they all do, but Iâve noticed a number of them seem to allow it.
