Very busy on a Friday evening. Good value food but for an established restaurant 20 mins was a long wait for the food to be ready after ordering.

This tiny gem is tucked away in the Castro district, a short walk from the theater. The neighborhood almost defines San Francisco's inclusiveness and it seemed we had escaped a cross between New York and Disneyland to find real people living real lives. Arrive and write your name on the chalkboard immediately. Waits can be long, but if you're willing to sit at the counter, you won't starve before you're seated.>>>> The menu is "focussed" but inclues a classic cioppino and several fresh fish dishes. We had the Dungenous crab, it was good, but we were there in the last weeks of the season and we're betting it would have been better during the winter. The chowder-- included with the crab-- was to die for. We've spent lots of time in Boston, and this version would make a chowderhead proud.>>> Beer is drawn from four taps, but they're pretty well selected to be sure that you'll have something you like and they acompany the seafood nicely. Wine, of course, flows easily as well. ---Bob & Ellie Tupper, authors, âDrinking In the Culture, Tuppersâ Guide to Exploring Great Beers in Europe.â
Came here for a 16 person birthday dinner for my little sister and loved it! They take reservations and can accommodate a huge group with short notice. Cajun is a great option for a group meal since you can try more flavors and eat more good food! The house special flavor was my favorite -- a little kick, with some garlic, butter, and lots of delicious flavor. Shrimp and crawfish were my favorites. If you get a combo, they throw in corn and potatoes into your bag, which soak up all the flavors. We also ordered the garlic noodles, which were delicious and a nice break from the messy seafood. They give you a bib, gloves, and crab claw crackers, but trust me you will still get messy! Lychee soju was delicious and came in the cool bottles that keep it cold without getting watery. Service was quick and kind.Great for a group dinner, celebration, or anytime you feel like eating something a little different!

Good Chinese dim sum. Consistent. Parking is horrible though. Getting the usual foods like Phoenix's claws, spare ribs, shrimp crepe rolls, etc did not disappoint. The skin on the crepe roll is not the best, but it is good though. Phoenix claws were big and meaty. Spare ribs were a bit fatty, but had chunks of meat as well. Tea is also good. Service was quick and cordial.

I had some misgivings about this place when I agreed to come with a bunch of my wife's friends for lunch. This is a huge place that easily accommodated our group of 10 people. The food is all served buffet style, and the selection has to be seen to be believed. We started with sushi and some dim sum dumplings before moving on to shrimp (several different kinds), chicken (ditto), and noodles (ditto again). You get the picture.Frankly, I found most of the dishes mediocre. The pot stickers, for example, were doughy and suffered from sitting around on the steam table. This is a very popular place for lunch, particularly among the elder component of the population. Lots of gray hair. The table service, consisting of water, tea, and cleanup, was superb. I discovered more tea in my cup without asking and wondered when that happened. The price of this feast is certainly reasonable. Each share came to $18, complete with tip, after rounding up. Not bad for enough to last for quite a while. So long as you know what to expect, you'll enjoy this place.

This is an extremely small place but I did not feel cramped or rushed. This place is packed but they seem to time things right as we only waited a couple of minutes for our table even after changing our reservation at the last minute. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The food just outstanding and the owners were delightful. It is one of the few restaurants that actually use real olive oil and it was excellent California EVOO. The wines were also excellent. Canât wait to return.

As always the place is like a zoo. As soon as it opens, a lot of people are already waiting. Unless you know someone inside which a lot of patrons do, they get special treatments and bypass the long line which makes waiting even longer and UNFAIR. I donât like coming because of that. Luckily we have a friend that knows someone inside. Food is still good. Worth coming (if youâre patient!), but waiting for 2 hours, youâd be the judge and find out. Service is HORRIBLE! Getting someoneâs attention is another big problem. Getting your request fulfilled is another matter that the management needs to improve upon. Donât hold your breath, it wonât improve. When requesting a glass of water plus other things, a lot of times the waiters walk away without listening to your entire sentences, thus, you end up requesting multiple times. Donât come here if youâre not patient.
