We went to have dinner but the restaurant was empty and only few of the dishes were available. The tuna salad and the monkfish salad were nothing worth mentioning. As a main dish we took beef in gimchi sauce which was excellent. Peter the waiter was extremely helpful. Excellent wines. Ask for the Caballero(?) white wine! As a dessert the cheesecake was delicious. Would come again but not on a monday...We feel deeply sorry that you have had a bad experience in our restaurant. We will work hard to continue improving our service. Our most sincere apologies and hope to see you back in Alma de Barra

Always visit when staying with my brother who lives nearby. I enjoyed the small portion of the goats cheese starter, which came with lovely fresh salad and was a good size for me. Followed by mussels and frites. The 2nd visit I had scallops and a really delicious chicken with Camembert sauce - very rich but oh so delicious. The owners offer of his homemade rum punch is a nice finisher. Service and food are great, never feel rushed. Would recommend booking.

Interesting experience, different place in comparison with very tourist places around. Just three small tables in the restaurant, but they can speak English and fish was tasty. I can recommend a mix of fish, everything seemed fresh. We visited Alicante during massive storms, so didnât get to see as much as we would have liked.We braved the heavy rain to walk around the marina to this restaurant, having seen reviews on trip advisor, and it was definitely worth getting wet!All other restaurants around the marina were fairly quiet due to the weather, but this was very busy, with a couple of large parties in. We were seated towards the front, on what would normally be the âoutdoorâ area. Due to the weather the roof was on and the doors were closed, it was a lovely atmosphere. Our food arrived and was gorgeous, with the added bonus of being served by friendly and attentive staff.In between serving they were having to mop up due to the rain coming in, which strangely added to the evening! I would definitely recommend a visit to this restaurant during a visit to Alicante, definitely the best food we had whilst there.

We regularly visit Alicante for shopping & the museums, but the highlight of our visit is lunch at FreneZy. The welcome from Xavier and his team is always warm and the restaurant has a real family atmosphere, which makes us feel good.The daily menu changes regularly and at â¬15 is difficult to beat, the choices are limited but are ingenious in preparation and always of the highest quality. Depending on time aloud we have tried other establishments but this one is top of our list.This week they had an additional tasting menu in conjunction with other restaurants at câ¬40, which was amazing value for what was produced.Long may these guys go on and keep doing what they do so well.Hi Davuzi,We are happy to read that you like having your lunch in FreneZy when you are in town.We will keep changing the daily menu everyday and we also always propose some alternatives.It will be a pleasure to welcome you again next time you come for shopping...See you soon, and best regards,The FZ Team

We have just got back from having wonderful fish and chips with our friends, well worth a visit, streets ahead of Quesada fish and chips. We dined here on the 12th October after 22:30 for a pre birthday dinner.From the outside p the end of the bar, then see the restaurant proper which is small and really cosy!My Spanish friends ordered several of the dishes to share with a bottle of white! (They have a great selection ofwines) Although they don't have an English menu but friendly and helpful Naty (waitress) who run through the menu with my friends and also made recommedations. Jose (waiter) ensured that everything was on the table (ice bucket for the wine), cleared the table quickly after each course, placed new cutlery and we never had to ask!! So amazing!! The dishes were delicious and with good portions. Their own baked bread is to die for!! All that and finally to share a chocolate dessert. We enjoyed our meal in the cosy environment but what top it all was the EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE from Naty and Jose!! We have been to other five star restaurants but they cannot match the service in La Cata!! We were impressed!! Muchas gracias Naty y Jose!!!
